Wanted: Training Kite (2.5-5 M)
Looking to buy a trainer kite in good-great condition of some kind to practice before taking kiteboarding lessons. Prefer a 3 or 4 line, but would
consider a 2 liner if the price was right. Same with lines/bars. Something along the lines of a HQ Rush IV Pro, Beamer, Scout, etc. Only hard
requirement is name brand.
Live in a pretty low wind area (6-8 avg MPH during the warm months), so I would imagine up to a 5 M kite would still be easy enough to handle as a
newbie.
Let me know what you have and how much you are looking for!
Thanks,
Andrew

I wanted to post a similar topic but you beat me to it. I'm actually shocked at how hard it is to find used trainer kites. I've looked on craiglist
and any other internet postings and the only used kites I find are in the 8m+ range.
By the way I'm looking at 3-3.5m and 3 lines kites along the lines of HQ Rush IV 350 HQ Hydra II 350. I think 4 line kites are used primarily by kite
schools and will most likely cost a lot more.

These prices don't look too bad. I think you could resell it easy due to the tight market on used trainers: http://www.kiteboarding.com/products.asp?cat=Trainer+Kites
Personally; if I was just getting a regular trainer; I'd get the Sensei. Watch the relaunch video on it.
I have a 2 line on a bar; Slingshot B2, and it doesn't relaunch for anything in lighter winds(wads up on the ground). I know they make a 3rd line kit
for it; but I've never seen it at a fair price before.
If your going to be flying in the water(body drags), the water relaunchable kites are a good deal.

I might be willing to part with my Scout II 4m for 250, I've been toying with the idea of selling it, its still in perfect condition and very crispy.
Do you come across state ever? I could help you get going on it and give you some tips.

I just bought Big Mike's Hornet II 2M. That said, I don't know if Touche has found one yet.
Also noticed there was a dedicated Wanted section, oops :embarrased:

Not sure if you want to go this way but pansh is having a sell on their adam 5.5 for 99 dollars. to get handles and lines would be another 80. If
you want to fly it on the bar I know there are guys selling four line bars on here. and lines for it are between 40-60 dollars so for less than 200
you could get a pretty nice closed cell kite

Don't typically get that far north when I do go to that side of the state. Mostly go to the Ann Arbor/Walled Lake area. But if I do get out that way,
Ill u2u.
