Bondo Doesn't Work to Fix Knee Pads

Just FYI...

I get a lot of #@%$#! for using knee pads, but I love 'em and I'm never going to stop using them while on land. That being said, I DO go through a lot of them because the caps crack.

While at JIBE, I cracked my MBS pads, so I figured I'd try some Bondo to see if it it'd fix the cracks. It did, but then my first solid knee drop cracked the Bondo. A better solution? Top of the line skate pads from 187, Smith, etc...

3 of these brands have replaceable caps.

HAHAHA... Thought of you yesterday as I walked into DicS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s Sporting Goods... With nothing better to do in the pouring rain, wifey & I loaded up all the munchkins to go look for some new running shoes for her. REALLY close to both JI and SSI.

I remembered you had cracked one but didn't have your # to call & tell you where to go....

Bondo? Really?

I'm going to take a nap now

I never gave you crap about wearing knee pads, I gave you crap about scudding along the ground with them... I can just hear my blowing out at the thought of trying that myself, and I still have young knees. Protecting the knees is awesome! I just wouldn't use knee pads as an excuse to take a ride on my knees on purpose :)

Naw, wasn't talking about you giving me crap at all, Demo. What I was talking about was the prevailing sentiment that, "if you're doing it right, when you fall, you're leaning back so you just fall on your butt."

I just happen to disagree with that sentiment, and I hate falling on my butt... I'd rather slide on my super thick, incredibly-resilient knee pads as countless ramp skaters have done since the dawn of skating. I just bought the wrong ones (MBS... skip them and buy ones with replaceable caps instead... oh, and don't use bondo... did I mention that?:))

Dave - Bondo??? Hilarious :D

I watched your Jibe video....next year I am in for sure! Looks like it was wicked good.

I too love and recommend the Hill Billys....although mine smell like death....always forgetting to wash them and they are funk magnet....probably TMI.
