Marina location on the other side of the island is about 40 minutes later than St Simons Light which is what I use. Its a few miles north from our beach but its the same seashore.

So we would be starting with low tide on Monday about 3:30 pm (can start riding at noon) and ending with low tide at 7:30 pm Friday and a full moon. High tide is strait up noon on Friday, so a good day to have pot-luck lunch at the kite fort.

These are the latest tides I think we have ever had but it favors the afternoon winds and the other week frankly suck. This puts the event farther away from Memorial Day Weekend, another plus.

We went ahead and booked that week listed above. Angus has made a few other comments about that week in some other posts. "BUT" still nothing officially announced. Our rental company will work with us if it needs to shift a week or so since its a year away.

Ashli and I have been talking about the possibility of renting a place for the week also... Still yet to be seen... How fast do they book up Jason?

I think most places are kinda slow on occupancy that time of year with the exception of special events such as weddings, etc. Especially if it gets moved up a week. Mothers Day, triathalon, turtle releases all in the same week seemed to spike the rentals this past year (I was told). Plus there should be a couple more hotels open next year as well. We just went ahead and reserved those tentative dates.

Oh, yeah. Scott and Mark are the coolest neighbors too. Cant wait til next JIBE

Just to throw in a +1 on this, generally earlier in May is better for me as well. (I'm dreading saying these words now, as I know I'll get screwed next year for it!) May is always so busy for me!
