Amelia Island Wedding/Buggy meet up?? (Ok, really Buggy meet up then wedding....)

Yo! Long time no type!

Getting married in October in Amelia Island, Fl. On the beach, not sure what beach yet but I wanted to have some kiting fun -- Here's what I'm thinking--Have a tandem buggy set up with "Just Married" on it and take my woman for a cruise after the beach ceremony. Looks like tides will be perfect for an afternoon wedding which is what where looking for to get pretty sunset pictures--blah blah blah---back to the important kiting idea :

SOOOO, I've been down their with BeamerBob years ago and we rode a beach near the state park but I know we can't ride on the park but I'd appreciate any knowledge on specific entrances, parking areas, BEACH NAME where we can definitely ride legally etc., so I can book the ceremony rental stuff there.

A "Meet Up" thread will follow. Love to have some kites in the air for pictures.

Congrats Pokite!

We parked at Wolf Park and that gave us direct beach access. The further north you go, the more empty the beach gets.

Wolf Park is the parking area that gives you beach access. It's right beside a municipal skate park that is on the west side of the parking area.

pokitetrash, first of all congratulations!

Secondly, when scouting things, google has a "street view" of all the beaches so feel free to scout the beach you have in mind. For instance, here's what the beach looks like in front of Wolf Park:

Thirdly, October is one of the best months to kite here. Good wind, pleasant temps, etc. I'd be happy to come kite with you, but I suspect between the wedding and everything else kiting will take a backseat :-)

Thanks! I'll definitely post a Meet Up because it would awesome to have some Kiter friends there!

I'll send you a U2U for more info. Wouldn't mind calling you to get a better skinny on the areas since you know the place.

I remember that place I think from the pictures in street view. we parked the camper in there and went down to the beach.

Scoped this place out about a month back.I had gear but it was mainly a beach trip, so I never flew. I was on the beach near high tide, but it was pitched and narrow. You'll want to make sure you have low tide for this. When I went in the dead of summer there were people everywhere for miles. I suspect that won't be as much an issue if you go north from wolf park and not south as wolk park is the northernmost public access I believe.

I'm traveling in October now as well and trying to squeeze kiting in. Do you have a date set?
