Prices

I have the opportunity to purchase a Flexifoil Blade II 6m and a HQ Beamer 2 4m (both ~4yrs old) for around £100 / $170. Having read into both of these kites, the only thing holding me back is the age. I have been assured that they are in excellent condition but would like to hear what you guys think?

The Blade 2 is NOT 4 years old. I owned the 3 series in 2006 so the kite is at least 8 years old. That being said, if you can buy them both for only $170 and they are in decent condition that's a good deal though that's an aggressive blade.

Depower Quiver: 14m Gin Eskimo, 10m Gin Eskimo III, 6m Gin Yeti, 4.5m Gin Yeti (custom bridle and mixer)
Fixed Bridle Quiver: MAC Bego 400, JOJO ET Instinct 2.5 & 5.5, Lil Devil 1.5, Sting 1.2
Rides: Ground Industries

Are you saying $170 each or $170 for both? Do they both come complete with lines and handles ( Ready To Fly RTF ) ? If it is $170 for both it is a good deal. $170 RTF each is only about market value. Not great deals, not bad.

Both are old models.

You didn't answer if you are a beginner or not in your other thread. If you are a beginner then the Beamer is the right kite for you. The Blade is a VERY advanced kite and you shouldn't be learning on it.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

If price is for both then it's a great deal....I own a blade II 4.0 and have been flying for quite some time now....I just recently purchased a 6.6 III and even that was a huge difference flying static.
My 4.o is way scarier to fly and sometimes very unpredictable in the gusty winds....If you have clean wind they are a joy to fly. The earlier versions have a tendency to have the tips fold in on you...which can be very frustrating if you are just learning...As Bladerunner stated...this is not a beginner kite!

Be careful with it....You could buy them both and hold off on flying the blade until your skills are better...also much easier/safer to fly if you are moving (buggy, etc)

1.8 Flexifoil Rage
2.5 Flexifoil Rage (new version)
3.5 Flexifoil Rage
4.7 Flexifoil Rage
2.0 Flexifoil Blade II
4.0 Flexifoil Blade II
6.6 Flexifoil Blade III
8.5 Flexifoil Blade III
5.0 Flexifoil Blurr
7.0 Flexifoil Bullet

Age of kite or your age ? That Blade is going to be a 6.4m. Don't fly in heavy gusts or exceed the max wind range of those kites....or any kite.

edit - oh the smell of hypocrisy from my own post.

Age of the kite ^_^.

And it is $170 for both. The blade would be purchased with one eye on the future whilst the beamer would be my learning kite. I am new to power kiting by the way.

That is a good deal then if they come RTF it is a very good deal. Assuming they are in decent condition.

The Blade will serve you well once you have mastered your Beamer and Twister.
