Hello all. As the title suggests, I am in Austin, TX and am new to kiting. I just got the HQ Hydra II as a trainer, but after getting booted from the UT IM fields where, apparently, kites are prohibited, I am at a loss for where to go. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone may have regarding where to fly a kite around here on dry land. Thanks in advance for the help!

Have you tried Zilker Park?

Note: Zilker is a pulic park and all the normal precautions and etiquette applying to the non-flying public should apply. I expect like most parks, the crowds will start thinning out as the weather gets colder and the Fall winds start to settle in.

You might also contact Tye at World Wind Kites even though power kites aren't their primary focus to see if there are other local flying fields.
