As the days continue to count down, we start packing our stuff up and get ready to go. We check our kites, check our tires and buggy's to make sure
they are ready, we check our boards to see if we need bearings, and we make sure that everything is just right.
The whole time I know I think back to buggy bash past and reflect on all the great times that have been had over the years. I think about those that
haven't been in a while for whatever reason, I think about those that came from the west coast as well as other regions of the country. I think about
the wild and crazy windy days and a special guy jumping over crowds of people on his land board when the winds were nuking! I remember the first time
I saw Claude ripping down the beach with amazing speed and just throwing the buggy sideways without fear! I remember seeing Paul doing his famous
360's and 720's for the first time on the beach at WW. I remember Todd and Corey running down the beach side by side, father and son, enjoying the
beach like no others as well as all the shenanigans. I can remember the number of buggy's that the KID has broken in two. I remember the first time I
saw Zeb use skis on the beach. I can also remember how many times Cheezycheese has been either in the water or blown out cells on a kite. Chads, 8m PL
venom 2 blowing cells with the loudest boom, never seen a PL blowout like that. The many BBQ nights and the silly prizes and what would be done with
them when people had enough to drink to be very creative. There are so many more memories, these are just a few for me.
Most of all I remember how big our kite family is at WBB, and how much I always look forward to seeing them twice a year.
So as we get ready to roll out on the beach for yet another great bash, throw up a couple of your favorite past memories of WBB and share with those
that don't know what it's like to be part of the WBB family!
Had to put that in the there Rich.... :P
Well one of the things I always think back on is my first bash. It was a day trip for me. I had just showed up with my 4m Beamer and a folding buggy.
I didn't know crap about buggying. Here comes this complete stranger that stopped what he was doing to teach me the basics. Thanks Glenn !! Will never
forget that. It's was actually quite fun until I dipped the kite into the powerzone got scared and tried to stop like Fred Flintstone. I did a
superman right over the fork. Packed up my gear and watched for the rest of the day. The only ride I had that bash was on the back of Danny's buggy.

Of course I had to throw that in there buddy, busting chops is what most of us do the best! I can remember having my 8m Neo up in strong winds. I had
been riding from the top of the beach down to the water when my Go Pro came off the back. Corey hollered to me that my camera was on the beach behind
me. The winds had picked up so much that when I got out of my buggy to go get the camera, it took forever for me to get back to my buggy, the winds
were blowing me down the beach no matter where I put the kite. Probably should have just pulled the safety, but what fun would that have been?
I know of several kites that have died at WBB, including one of Dan's favorites when it hit the sign pole down by the pier. Cut the kite in half! Sad
day for that kite, he could really haul with that thing!
The apollo- that was my first bash........nuff said, i have been coming ever since (missed 2 due to injuries) and have to agree with rich, i always
look forward to seeing everyone. probably one of my best memories was a few yrs ago when the wind was howling side shore and i showed up with my 13m
venom and BEC( his first bash and only familiar with FB) stood there and was like yeah i wanna watch this guy bust his @$$; only to become one of my
best buds with or without a kite- friendships found in the wind created for life. Cant wait to see all of you 7 days to go

Another fond/funny memory of mine is when Brian (skimtwashington) won the balance board at the raffle. He was like a five yr old on Christmas morning.
And then Rocfighter won the "blades of death".

My favorite memory is when TheKidd asked the lady in the office if the pool heat was on and she said "yes". Best part is he never checked he just took
her word on it. Put on his swim suit and just jumped right in!! What a scream he let out when his toe touched the water!!
If only some one had gotten it on video.

1: my second bash (first with a buggy); me trying to keep moving and Andrew zipping past me time and again, giving me words of encouragement
2: bringing Josh - watching him absorb Scotts coaching; watching him hold his own on the beach and appreciating the acceptance of him by the "adults"
(really, aren't we just older kids?)
3: the help, camaraderie and friendship of great people that I would never have had the chance to meet otherwise

I remember coming to my first bash. I came down solo and didn't know anyone. I just stumbled onto the kite forum and read about the event.
Cheezy was the first person to say hello to me at the Shalimar. Made me feel comfortable. I basically flew only static at the point and hadn't
logged more than 50' in my buggy before coming. I went to the beach and laid out my lines, got my buggy set. I stood there watching everyone
for about 45 minutes. I was afraid to show everyone how green I was. 3 people came over to me and asked if I needed help. Someone finally said,
"your not going to learn just by standing there". Next thing I know I was moving on the sand with a big grin on my face.
I always look forward to seeing the smiling faces of my WBB family.
