Peter Lynn Hornet or Ozone Method

I would like to hear the pros and cons about these 2 kites.
I am new to this, looking for a 3m but cant choose between the Hornet or Method. I weigh 65kgs (143lbs) and want to fly static at the beach. Once I have some experience with the kite I would like to do some scuding and maybe at a later time get a buggy or board. Also how can i tell it is the latest in the hornet range?
Look forward to your advice

If you are just learning here is a cheap kite that is fun to fly and can pull you on skates, when the wind is up

No offense Sadsack, but don't waste your money on that garbage on ebay. You really can't go wrong with either of the choices you made Bottlerocket. The are pretty similar in performance. 3m is the perfect size to begin with and will serve you well down the line when you have more experience.
Where are you from..?

For static flying at the beach, go for the Method. It has a wider wind window than the Hornet and is faster through the air. Top speed will be quicker in the buggy. The Hornet has more lower speed grunt, a little slower and a little more stable. If you had a race side by side with the two kites in the buggy, the Hornet would be quicker off the line and in lighter winds may out perform the Method. Once the wind picks up a little, the Method would catch the Hornet and be maybe 10kph faster.

Both are excellent kites but I really like the Method for static flying. You'd need about 15 knots for some decent buggying with the 3m Method but you could still buggy in 25 knots. The 3m Hornet...maybe 12 - 20 knots. (that's for my wimpy comfort levels!)

Conversely, if you wanted a stable kite for buggying in inland gusty winds, then I'd take the Hornet.

I should point out that I'm comparing the original white/red/grey Hornet to the Method - the new Hornets could be a little different.
