Years ago i had this 2.5m felixfoil kite blade something? (I've forgotten) Anyway, the other day i saw a bunch of guys power kiting with buggys on TV and i had a erge to go to some power kiting but i've seemed to have lost my orginial kite somewhere.

So, i was just wondering what kites would be best for first time buggying?

I had my eyes set on a HQ beamer TSR 3.6m or 5m but wasn't sure whether that had enough power or would be suitable. I'm not looking for high end kites that cost a buddle. That's basically it.
Anyother tips and advice would be nice to. (buggys etc.)

It all depends on the speed of the wind and your experience using it. Rule of thumb: The more wind, less kite. The 2.5 would be great for 20 plus mph wind speeds, the 5.0 would work well when the wind is closer to 10mph.

So, would the HQ Beamer TSR work well when buggying or should i look for a different kite, if so what ones?

The Beamer II or the Beamer TSR should be a good buggy engine for you as it has a lot of pull in those wind conditions and doesn't tend to lift as much as the more "lifty" kites like the crossfires and Blades. Quite a few people on this forum and others have both of these kites and use them for both landboarding and buggying. The Beamer II itself may actually be recommended moreso due to its being setup for use with handles and quite a few people buggying prefer handles due to the control you get from them. However, the TSR was designed for use with a bar, so it actually compensates great and turns well.

Yeah, the Beamer's a good choice, should do you for quite a while. Just need to figure out size, what's your weight and average wind speed?

Well, i'm 14 stone and wind speed would range from about 4 to 10mph.
So, i'm guessing the 5m would be a safe bet? Are there any other kites that i should look into or should i set my eyes on the TSR and in future buy a better kite?

In 10mph and less the 5m would be the ticket. Just be sure to fly it in 10mph or less until you come to grips with the kite. You should be able to hold onto it in up to 20mph once you've got some time with the kite. It'll also give you a wide wind range.

I'm assuming that when you had the 2.5m kite you could fly it and that you have enough common sense to start off slowly with the new kite.
