Tides NW England

I have finally finished building a new buggy and took it up to a beach near Morecombe at the weekend. Having checked the tide times low tide was at 14:30.

We got on the beach at half 10 and found a reasonable area available and only expected it to get better. We soon found however that far from getting bigger the beach was shrinking. We had strong onshore winds is this likely to affect the tides that much?

Any help advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

sounds like you looked at the tide schedule wrong or at the wrong spot- wind will affect the tide level a little as will storms but unless was a freak weather thing have never heard of a beach getting smaller as it heads into low tide. only other thought would be Gonzola was screwing with you
