ARC flag out/Safety question on non PL Bar

Hey guys. Trying to help Jadog with a larger bar and remembered playing around with a Switch bar awhile back.

Check this video and let me know what you think. It appears to me this bar will allow an arc to completely flag out on a single front line. I know that the PL 07 bar flags on a single back line.
Opinions? I really like the setup on this bar as a great price point when compared to building up your own.

Anyway take a look and let me know what you think.

It doesn't look like its flagging to a single line.

Look again. Watch close by the cleat and the safety.

It looks like it runs up by the cleat and hooks to a single line at the cleat.

Look closely the second time he flags the kite.

Hmmm.

I watch it. Looks like single line. Watch it again looks like both front lines. Watch it again looks like single.

I guess I should read the online docs at their website first before coming on here and looking foolish.

From Switch.

SAFE
The safest option

Featuring instant 100% flag option using either the single front or optional 5th line system, internal and low friction quick release mechanism, kinesiology friendly above the bar depower, rounded soft bar ends and a strong fail safe leash. All parts are strength tested in our lab to confirm the calculated fail point.

So then the only question is. Does it make a difference to flag a single front line over a single backline?

At $275 I think I may just grab one of these for my snow play.

I've had bars that did each and like the front line better. Less spinning and twisting.

@BeamerBob

So do you think this would be a good choice for a bar to be used with the larger Phantoms? Up until this point, I was considering building my own bar.

A bar is just a means to change relative line length. If the safety is reliable and you can easily and comfortably fly the kite with it then it's just a personal choice. It MUST flag to a single line though for arc flying.

Bobby's right. Front line flag out is a lot cleaner. Less spinning, less chance of a line behind the a spar etc... Easy to relaunch and ride.

this flag line can work as front flag , its thru the center , like Slingshot. Old navigator had similiar it was just further up the line set at the Y connector. a center line thru the bar is nice because it keeps the leash BELOW the bar . in a basic four line bar, a simple flag line ring above the trim is all you need but have to run the leash outside the bar and can became twisted and a pain esp. with looping. the newer TS nav has a thru the center front line flag. most modern set ups are thru the center and leash BELOW the bar, some have trimmer variations above or below the bar and is independent of the safety pull, except some tube kites set ups do have combo on trim line and should be avoid for arc use , unless YOU mod them to have front line flag

i like just a pull ring above the trimmer and leash to suicide on a simple 4 line bar. in a flag out set up for an arc or any kite the bar HAS to be free to move UP the front line the length of the kite when laid out(or let go) . if it does not do this it will not work properly

I had a v1 Switch bar... I don't think you can easily use them as single line, but the v2 you definitely can. It's at the swivel where the magic happens ;)

If the bar was wider, I'd be using them on the Flysurfers...

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

I looked all over their website and couldn't find the length of the Switch bar v2. Does anybody know? Kamikuza, how long are the bars you use with your Flysurfers?
