I think I am gonna stop buying kite-related clothing....

I've got hoodies and shirts from PL, Xenon, Cabrinha, Slingshot, & ozone.

Every one of them has stitching that's coming apart.

I am so incredibly glad that the quality of their kites and harnesses is higher than the quality of their clothing, but I don't think I can buy another shirt that dies after two washes. (Looking at you specifically, Slingshot!)

Those PL scorpion shirts I had fell apart during the first use from just being underneath the harness. I feel your pain

I have many different shirt from many kite companies since I am attending few kite events every year .... Not wearing those ever day .... but they all look ok ...... My most used Aboards shirt after 2 years is still in very good condition .... I damage few rush guards when kiteboarding, but I think it was time to replace them after so many sessions ....

The Flexifoil hoodie I bought through Angus has been awesome in terms of fit, finish and little details.

Kind of spendy.... bought 2 to justify the shipping.

Sized for underfed waifs, so you had to do a little bit of mental calculations to get the sizing right.

Zero buyer's remorse.

Sam

I have had very good use out of my clothes. Lots of PL stuff. I have a Guerilla shirt that is faded out but still holding up and almost 10 years old. 2 Hoodies and about 4 shirts from PL. All OK. My NABX Tshirts have also held up amazingly well. My IBB shirt and hoodie look the job but aren't that old yet. My ECKS and Big Kid T's are also standing up well.

Is this happening to all your stuff or just some?

My only issue is the dust making a permanent home on some of the white shirts. All my kite shirts are holding up great. Everyone is going to want an IBX shirt from the 2015 event. If you think your kite shirts in the past have been a conversation starter, just wait till you wear this one. Hat's off to chief designer Screwyfits.:thumbup:

You gotta figure this clothing is for promotional purposes mostly. Like the schwag they hand out in every industry, it's purpose is to get the name out but usually at the lowest cost/quality possible. There are exceptions, the Peter Lynn Hoodies for example are real hoodies. Thick, well made with graphics that last. Really a great piece of clothing.

I have t-shirts from the early days in mountain biking that are still going strong. Now I'm lucky to get a year out of the shirts they hand out these days.

By and large, unless you have a steady supply, this type of clothing isn't an everyday option. More like special occasions like taking your wife out to eat and weddings, funerals etc.
