Tire consumption?
Just wondering what to plan for.
I like being fairly well powered up and am going to go for some personal best speed runs, Currently one of my bugs is on full BF's and the other is on
barrows.
Libra super truck is on BF's and a lighter homebuilt is on the barrows. I'm assuming that even thought the super truck is a sweet buggy I'd be better
running on the smaller bug with the standard rims. Maybe add some dead weight to it to help with the tracking.
How fast can one expect to go through a set of barrows though, and how long would the BF's last?
Is there terrain around the lake that the BF's would be good for?

I leave my BF's at home. No need for them out there and no sense in wearing them out. The playa is pretty abrasive and if riding hard (not just
fast) will wear out a set MUCH quicker than the beach. Just going fast isn't too bad on the wear actually. I routinely reach 50+ and have had a set
of tires last just about the entire week. But that is with mostly using a downwind technique to slow down at the end of the speed runs (to save
tires). But, if you happen to do a lot of scrubbing to slowdown or turn upwind to make your turns, you can easily go thru a set in a matter of hours.
I would recommend to anybody, especially first time out there to bring at least 3 sets of tires. I myself would rather bring back home what I didn't
use than to be watching everybody else having fun while I'm on the sideline without tires.

Libra buggy's on full BF's, not BF lights, and my barrows use a different bolt size. I can make a spacer up for the front end to run the BF forks with
a barrow wheel, but I guess I'll be needing a set of standard rims as well as a couple sets of tires then, I guess standard barrow slicks would be the
ticket?
Tubeless or tubed?
Ricky, can you get your hands on rims that'll fit a Libra?

Buggy Buddies,
No BF terrain around Ivanpah.
They're only a 2 ply tire and so will wear quickly on the playa surface.
ANY 2 ply tire will not last long.
We all run 4 ply tires.
Mostly smoothies (no need for tread with this surface)
Regular sizes - 4.80/8 tubeless - But we all run tubes.
The tubeless designation has to do with the reinforced bead.
We All Run With Tubes In Our Tires.
My tires last between 500 and 700 miles.
So check that you bring 4 ply tires.
That's the most important tire ingredient.
I saw this on TV last night.

K, thanks guys, found a source of rims locally, so I'll be putting barrows on teh super truck, it may look sort of goofey with the BF front forks, but
it should work fine.

i have a full set(3) of those for my libra buggy.
as a matter of fact i`m selling the whole set this weekend
to someone who is coming to nabx. those tires are a #@%$#! to mount
being 4ply and extra wide. i had to soap up and heat the tire just
to mount them. one other thing is they are very heavy. about twice
the weight of a standard buggy wheel and tire. the only good thing
i found with them is the buggy can take alot more side load but being so heavy you will not break any speed records with them
