Pulls like a truck and turns quick for a 14m kite. Great hang time too. It was my light wind kite but I am starting to get used to the flysurfer so I
didn't even take it on my last kite trip. The previous owner had some sail-taped repairs I had professionally fixed by Charlie (Hatteras guy that does
all of the warranty repairs for Real and other kite shops). I haven't had any issues with it in my 2+ years of ownership. Solid kite, fabric is in
great shape. Bar and lines (27m lines) included and are as good as new. I'm not in a hurry to sell the kite but it's not getting much use anymore.
$600 shipped to CONUS. Here is a video of the kite from last year.
15m speed 3 deluxe. It has a better low end than the 14m rally, probably similar to a 17m Turbine although I've never tried one, and I can easily hold
it down until I can get on my 10m RPM. I haven't felt a gap between the two yet but there might be one if the wind was just right. Very gusty wind is
probably the main winning point for slingshot (or any tube kite) over a foil. The rally turns about 4x faster than the speed3 but overall the speed3
is a better light wind kite for me than the rally. I can go upwind and jump with the speed 3 when I would be looping the rally to waterstart and still
be going downwind.
Heh... just switched over from a 15m Speed 3 to a 12m Cronix and an 8m RPM myself. The wind is nuts gusty around here, so I feel you on the tube
kites, but I've never had a better day than I had on the Speed 3 in steady winds. Jury is still out on the Cronix. I hate packing it up, but it
turns on a dime and has sick upwind capabilities. Minimum of 10mph to fly it, though. Thus far I prefer the RPM.
I'm not in the market right now, but I wish I were. I don't suppose you feel up for a trade do you (see my flysurfer blowout post)?
Which flysurfer? I find myself torn between slingshots and flysurfers these days. 😄
That's a tough call for me too:
Flysurfers - love at first sight, upwind, hangtime, no yearly re-releases. cons: drift launch, yellow pulley lines, lull handling, turning speed.
Slingshot Rally - best relaunch, great upwind and jumping (but second to NRG), no pulleys. cons: small inflation valve, white lines.
Liquid Force NRG - great upwind, great jumps (both second to Flysurfer), large inflation/deflation valve. cons: pulleys, relaunch is second to Rally
Totally understand, the wind around here is so gusty that I just refuse to waste my time and really only kite when I travel. No sense in packing the
car up, driving 2hrs, then trying to kite in gusty inland wind that maybe already died by the time I get there but I still have to drive back, clean
and dry my gear for a total of maybe 6hrs of wasted time. I usually drive up to Lake Erie or Lake Michigan for a weekend (4-7hrs away) for the steady
wind or fly somewhere warm if it's winter. Fortunately I travel relatively often so I can still get a good amount of kiting in each year. The 14m
takes up a lot of space in my golf bag compared to the flysurfer too.

You are wise in the ways of kiting. I thought I had learned that lesson, myself, until we found ourselves driving for hours on end looking for wind
for 2 weeks in a row. Stay strong!
