Buggying at Sandy Point

This is the Labor Day meet for the Extreme Kites crew. A pretty good turnout considering we did this a week before the actual holiday due to the low tide times. A really good few days kiting. And how good is this beach?

Nice vid John, how do you find the performance of the NASA Star against the other guys with foils?

Thanks Spencer. Looking forward to kiting with you again, Iain. btw, Joel turned up and kited with a broken leg, so that's no excuse!

bigE, the guys I'm flying with are usually 15kph faster - sometimes a little more - probably not surprising considering they're using LEI's, Speed 3's, Montanas etc. If I'm well powered, I'm usually sitting between 40 - 45kph in a straight crosswind. Have got up to 57kph on a good downwind run which is my best with the NS2's. Up against the same size low aspect fixed bridle foil - Octane/Beamer etc there's usually not more than a couple of kph difference with the NS2's having the advantage in the lower wind range and the foils gaining the advantage in the top end.

Cheers John, always good to hear an honest answer. I usually fly on my own so it's not an issue if I'm not going as quick as I would with a different kite, just being out is good enough :D

At a loss for words John. Your vids just sooth the soul. That one part with the 7m NS2 park and ride against the clouds was amazing. So well behaved you could hardly tell the kite was moving across the sky!
Thanks.

Thanks guys.

I don't think I do have any footage of the 9m Riot. Only had a couple of small sessions with it - I'm much more comfy with the 10m NS2. The Riot's been in the XK for sale section for over 12 months.

Nice one John. My favorite bit was when you held the camera high above your head. I got a sense of speed watching the tracks pass under your bug.
