It's fairly big. There is parades in most cities and every bar has green beer. We always have corned beef and cabbage for dinner.

:D Cabbage for dinner!!
Both my parents are Irish and bloody cabbage is what we grew up with. Boiling and simmering for hours in a big pressure cooker like a witches cauldron. Windows steamed up and dripping with cabbage juice. What's with the Irish and cabbage? Still, it did us no harm I guess. There's nowhere near as much fuss here over on St. Patricks day, at least that's my experience.

American's need justification to drink, that is all. They are binge drinkers because they can't manage it themselves on a daily basis. I suspect the prudish attitude towards alcohol and recreational drugs brings this behavior on. St. PatricS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s day is honestly a sh*t show here in the States. Everyone pretends to be Irish for a day and drinks crappy green beer and wears shamrock sunglasses.

But, if I am honest, it sure is fun!
