After beginners kite, what next
After flying the Hornet III 3.0m2 (or the Beamer V of the same size), what would be a logical next kite ?
I plan to use it for static flying, and at some point landboard.
Easily available here are the HQ and PL kites. Looking around, it seems that the PL Twister 5.5 would be a good option, but some says it has too much
lift. The HQ Toxic has more pull, and less lift, but it can be generated with the brakes, in in general it flies nicely with brake input (like I am
used to on my Revolution kites, and which the Hornet is not too fond of).
I would like a more lively kite, faster, better turning, more fun. Not sure I need the lift of the Twister, and some users comment that the Toxic do
have lift, when you apply brakes (like I am used to from skydiving).
If I go for the Toxic, it will be the Toxic II out within a month, what size ? 5.0 or 6.3m2 ? I think the 6.5m2 might become too big. What is the
closest equivalent to the Twister 5.5 when it comes to size ?
Kites: HQ Symphony Beach III 1.3, HQ Symphony Pro 2.2, 200x70cm no-name, Peter Lynn Hornet III 3.0m2, Peter Lynn Uniq Quad 1.5m2, PL Uniq Play 1.0.
Non-power: Std + Full vented Freilein Windrider X (Rev style quads), Freilen Transeye. ITW Triton, some chinese SLK

either kite is gonna be very different from the hornet ...every time you go up in size know your gonna have a slower kite that turns and acts
different than the smaller ones which are always more fun... consider a more aggressive 3m
can't have too many 3m kites imo
6.5....too big a jump and you wont put it up unless winds are low or are looking for motion or ready to jump

Can't comment on the Toxic, but I have owned the Twister IIR 5.6 and never found it to be too lifty. I used it as a buggy engine. Turned quick enough
and was quite zippy.

I can comment on the Toxic 8.0m and I loved it! I would actually say it flies a bit easier in light winds than my Reactors because it doesn't require
as much internal air pressure to maintain its shape. The Reactors tend to crinkle and fold up on their top skin if you don't keep them moving fast
enough and the internal pressure drops.

OK, Negotiated a fair price on a Toxic II, 5.0 - So now I have to wait until it arrives to Germany in 2-4 weeks.
