landboard trucks set up _ help_ please
just got a new landboard/mbs board for riding down the hill a bit and playing/riding on a beach with the kite
This board came with VECTOR TRUCKS
seems slightly soft..easy to turn... I think they came with medium truck bushings....
SHOULD I purchase the hard red BUSHINGS for the trucks.. or better keep the softer medium ones?
Do you want stiffer/ harder to turn trucks or softer/easier turning trucks for kiting?
or it does more depend on how heavy the rider is ?!

Although I don't landboard often anymore, I had the same concern at first. One of the wise kite elders told me that you are the problem and not the
trucks. He was right. You will need to get used to leaning against the kite and pointing your toes forward to go straight. That's with a kite. Going
down hills might be nice to have stiffer trucks. Personally, I like being able to turn quickly upwind and downwind when needed.

ok thanks.. I think.. I will keep playing with what I have now..... maybe after 10 sessions. I will have a better feeling
for that.....just need some steady wind and the rains to stop

in general, soft and loose is much easier to start with. as you progress with kite power and balance to manage speed and control, you may want a
little stiffer.... mostly so they last longer.
loose and soft much easier to mange when on top of the board , makes things kinda steery.
as you being to control edge and power/kite position, a rigid edge will be more important at that point.

I agree, loose is good for learning. as you progress you will learn to slide and that is easier with tighter trucks because if the trucks are moving
when you slide they act more like a brake because they are pointed towards the ends of the board. there is less resistance when the trucks are
perpindicular to the board.

thank you, guys.. will keep the medium trucks for now...and learn more before I experiment with different set up and other trucks
