Today I finally had the chance to ride again. Excited as I can get, and yesterday turned out to be a no go, I was stoked.
First time to take the kite out and fly it. I have no idea how many knots the wind was, but if an arc fills up by wind, its ready to fly.
So there she layed on the ground. My brand new second hand Synergy. Double checked the vpc bridle I attached at home...looking good.

The kite filled up easy, a little walking backwards and a smooth launch. Tremendous. I boarded for 2 hours and found this old friend again named big feeling of freedom.

I noticed a few things...
Going down wind takes a bit effort coming from a Speed3 DLX, but once going its easy.
I have to dial in my transitions different again. For example..I like to powerslide my turns but the kite turns pretty quick so I have to adjust to that.

Most important thing I noticed is that one of the air inlets seems to be crooked. I tryed everything on the beach what I could to unwrap, unwrangle, open it. It is not stuck under the adjuster belt. It seems its somehow wrangled wrapped up.

Ow..also made kind of a blooper. I played with the strappes and stuff. Well..i also thought I could attach the lines to the outside of the bar while flying the kite and talking to someone. Hahaha...these larkhead knots dont open wide if a floater pushes it back. So the kite was drifting in the air, one line attached to the bar and the other on my hand. Me explaining the guy about kites.
Than the line slips out my fingers. Hahaha..i was looking like...O.oo not good as I see the line in sort of slow motion getting out of reach. Pulled safety, problem solved.


I love the navigator bar. What an improvement to the Zero bars.
And I might have to make a little adjustment to the attachment points of the main lines. I felt the kite was stalling to much when fully powered up. Really tight backlines.

Anyway..great day with a great kite. The Synergy feels very playful.
Any tips about unwrapping the air inlet would be great.

You might try a hitting the inlet with a leaf blower? I would open the dirt outs and blow through the inlets to get debris out. don't know if this will work for your problem.

@1oldkid. I took a lot of pictures over the years and had an idea about the angle. But I really could not see the screen of the phone. Not when pushing the button and not what was in the screen. I am happy with this uneditted and I say lucky picture.

ssayre...a leafblower is a great idea. Thanks. That beats my plan for the hair dryer hands down.

Always wonderful to read about a fellow "devoted" kite enthusiast getting back in the saddle and out under the kites we love. I'm very, very happy for you. Sounds like you had a wonderful time!!

I see what you mean about the inlet, that's really odd. I hope you get it resolved!

You can reach in through the deflate zipper and manually unroll the vent- think that would fix it and be a little gentler than the leafblower

reach in thru the deflate zip and untangle it , looks wrapped pretty good, the front has a mesh cover i think, otherwise you could sort from the front, with no pressure on it, it should fall away from strap just by handling it from the outside

I did reach in through the deflate zipper. I could not find any hole to reach the cell where the inlet is stuck. It feels like a paper ball and will get me to work to unfold it.

I am thinking of pulling the cells out through the deflation zipper, but I am hesitating because I really don't want the inflations in the other cells to prop up when I push the kite back in its shape.

with arcs , the crossrib air vents are in the TE and may have mesh there as well if i remember correctly, work it out from the outside if the strap has it pinned or bound , tease it gently from the front, working from top and bottom, add some air pressure ,

these valves float freely whereas FS are fixed on the sides.


the straps do have small slits in the ribs but are fixed in the center.

Glad to hear everything seems to be working correctly. Kites deserve to be flown, not left in their bag in someones basement

Not yet. I still need to send it out for work. It needs a lot more work that I anticipated. The leader lines are bad, there are 9 gorilla tape "repairs" and it has 2 blown out cells.

Not gonna be next week like I thought.......

I discovered the problem with one air inlet. It is sewn to the cell. I found this tiny opening in the cell behind the deflation zipper and pulled the airinlet out and was quite surprised to see the ending of the inlet woven into the stiches of the cells.

I am thinking of cutting the airinlet free. The downside is that it will be visable that one of the inlets is shorter. The upside is that wind will be able to float through the inlet again.
I am not good with a sewing machine so i rather not mess with the stiching.

Anyone any ideas.
I will try to post a picture of this later.
