If you think you might only ever want to try this once go the tandem route!
The place I went to also had the option of jumping alone with a static line from 3000 feet.
It was ALL about the freefall experience for me . ( After I proved to myself I could actually go out and let go of a perfectly good plane.)
After only a few seconds it settled out and for about 50 seconds I was living my flying dream!

I have to agree with Blade - the longer the free fall the better, to heck if somebody is strapped to your back. Remember, the person on your back has
thousands of jumps to your, err, none. I only jumped once years over 20 years ago and jumped from 15500 in San Diego so we had a LONG way to fall.
It was totally cool. What I wasn't prepared for was having the snot in my sinuses get driven back into my brain, but I guess that's just par for the
course when facing an unrelenting free-fall speed wind. :o

I was introduced to kiting by my skydiving mentor back in 1999. I couldn't afford both sports at the age of 19, so I went the skydiving route. I
just got back into kiting 3 years ago,and haven't made a jump other than base in quite some time. If you do go down the skydiving path you will
greatly enjoy it. FYI being,a Tandem master is the equivalent of being a ferris wheel seat. It's horrible.

Haha yeah, I think we jumped somewhere around 15000 feet, I wasn't prepared my sinus as well. I forgot about releasing pressure to my ears so it was
painful when I hit the base, my ears brusted. But other than that it was awesome! I probably won't be able to afford another for a while.. (This one
was with discount for working here)
