SO I was given some kites that had been used as display and show props several years ago.. Of them all the star kite and thew ghost delta are the only
ones still Airworthy and they need some minor repair.. The others have been repaired with everything from Electrical and duct tape to STAPLES,, I have
a bit of cleaning to get the sticky tape residue off and sewing to repair a few ripped seams and spar pockets. I also have to replace a few spars but
I wanted to share my first look at my new one liner stuff.. I'm aiming at repairing all of them but worst case scenario. I have some ripstop and
carbon for other projects.
What will get tape off without ruining the ripstop?.. I'm thinking GooGone might damage the fabric?
I've used Goo Gone on a Thor's Hammer that has a rubber band disintergrate onto the sail. Just did a fresh water rinse immediately afterwards and
everything was fine.
Never hurts to do a test dab on an inconspicuous corner. Be careful of lighter colors that might show discoloration more readily.

I've been told that baby oil will also get rid of the sticky stuff,... I know it works on the crud left over when I remove an infusion set from my
insulin pump... Kinda like the bandaid sticky stuff.
It was a production kite. I'm positive it originally was purchased in mid 2004. You are right that kite is very similar. The only difference I see in
the construction is on mine the points of the star come to a point pocket for the strut. whereas on the one you found they end in a strut or T joint
of some sort.

One of these recently turned up on GWTW.
There was a smaller version called the Supernova
But it was small (3-4 foot range) and the spars passed through.
The larger one was called the New Tech Kites Supernova Extreme, and the spars terminated in pockets.
