I got one together. Mostly Sandmageddon footage. Some peeps didn't fly that day cause of the 30 mph winds lol. If you didn't make this video, you have
a good chance of making the next two. I can pull almost a whole kite widow picnic video, and a compilation from several BIG kite light wind days. This
is only my second real video edit so go easy . Some parts are shaky helmet cam
footage but oh well. Say cheese!!!
I broke my middle finger 3 days before JIBE on my dominant hand, so that put a big damper on the daredevil, downturns, kite size, and a lot of things
at JIBE. Waited until I got back home to even see the doctor:D
Its late, so hopefully everyone will see in the morning!
Without further ado......:D

WAY TO GO!!! Awesome footage of what looks to be a superb event filled with great people. What fun. Winds looked sort of nasty; strong as hell and
more side shore / off shore than on. I can vividly see where the Sandmageddon expression came from! :P
The reason for the wind blowing down the beach like that is at the time; there was a tropical depression causing the wind to blow more and more NE
each day as it passed by:
The first day of the event(Monday) was epic; with the wind blowing more from the east. Rode nearly 60 miles that day:
Each day my miles were less and less due to the upwind ride taking a little longer each day (More NE each day). Like 45 miles the second day and 30
miles the 3rd day.
The first day I rode most of the day with my 5.5m Reactor. Nearer the end of the day; the wind had gradually increased over the course of the day and
I got out my 4.4m. The second day I flew my 3.5. The third day; I flew my 2.8.
I fully planned on riding the 4th day; but my left shoulder was out of action from the previous two days of that upwind slog taking a toll on it.
Did anyone else end up with an achy left shoulder?
I knew the current model Reactor could 'fly' backwards; but I didn't know it could also fly sideways! Those downwinders down that beach; the kite
could nearly be pointed any direction and just be along for the ride.
It also seemed like that beach was ever so slightly downhill going from north to south. It seemed to have a slight grade to it?
JIBE definitely has a tropical and exotic feel to it. Highly recommended. Smoothest surface I have ever ridden on. Like wet concrete that is nearly
setup.
I only rode down to the second water tower in this pic on the first day.
The beach has a slightly subtle bit of curve to it and getting back upwind from down there would have been enduring. Otherwise I would have ridden
down there everyday. I just rode up to the "lava rocks" on the north end each day. And one day all the way around to the "drift wood forest" around
the curve. Talk about a change of scenery up there!
Great video Jason! I'm really wanting to make it next year and will if possible. Really looked like a great time and the sound track was good too.
The flow looked like it was handling nicely. My blade had ozone handles on it. Most comfortable handles I've ever used. The lei looked like a hoot.
Errol looked well powered as usual.
Sean, you and Steve deffo need to come in 2016. JI is a one of a kind family friendly spot with fun for all!
We can have US Team Nasa Star ride, with you 2, Jason, Randy and myself all in attendance.... it'd be sweet!!!
@rtz, I'm about 99% sure that the regulations set down by the Jekyll Island Authority dictate that you are not allowed to go past the water tower due
to nesting areas and habitat etc. so I'm pretty sure you hit the southern limit.
Its been said many times before just like Spencer mentioned. There are a bunch of primo buggy locations in the USA. SOBB, Dead Bird, Ivanpah, Wildwood
etc. Only Jekyll has the ability to entertain the whole family ALL day long. Don't get me wrong, We all trek to kite first and foremost, and that is
certainly the backbone of the events. There is so much Jekyll has to offer. Shopping, hiking, bicycle, golf, restaurants, camping, on and on and on.
Plus now that the anual weenie roast has morphed into the Kite Widow support picnic its even better. That was a huge success! Most everyone plays the
tides and does the family thing every day until its time to wind jam. Logistics can be a #@%$#!, and the ride down there isn't much better, but its
sooooo worth it. You will never look at flying the same! EVER!!!!
Sean. Yes Errol was beyond lit! He rocked it out!!! That was just one of many power slides. That particular day, I first pulled out the 2.5 star and
went sideways all the way down to the water. Crazy grunt powerslide. Waaaaay too much to kite to handle. Wish I had the 1.5!!! The rolling resistance
is practically zero there, so you can downsize kites no problem. I am really thinking about asking Steffen for an archive 1.5 NS2 build. We'll see.
If you and Steve can make it there next year, beer and a steak dinner are on me. You must come brothers. Same offer too Cheesy. Bring it on down bud!
I tried to group all the sandmageddon footage together. Still have some other tid bits from that day. I have a pile of other footage to edit as well.

No Cheesy. BEERS! Lol. Our duplex on Jekyll has a nice stainless gas grill by the patio for the guest to use. Flyguy throws down some mean brats
behind us every year too on his grill. Mmmmmm..
Hey markite. I still laugh thinking about that one day. We were all sitting on your porch having a couple beers. That poor fellow couldn't get the
grill lit. You hollered over to him he needed to turn the propane on first Lmao.

Another option, if you don't get a 1.5 is to use short lines on the 2.5
5m lines and 2.5m ns2 is my 30's gusting 40's set up. :D
You guys know I like being overpowered. :D I love the feeling of blazing 40mph+ and your backend slides out a bit. At such a great venue like Jekyll
Island, you really feel extra safe on coastal winds and smooth, hard sand.
