when to change depow line
It looks pretty ratty, but not sure if I still have a good year or 2 of kiting left or if this needs to be replaced sooner or if you just wait for it
to break?? It was frayed a little when I got it a year ago, but I can tell I've put some more wear on it.

If that were me, it would have been time a bit ago... No use letting something as inexpensive as a depow line completely ruin your day (or life if it
snaps while in the air)

True. Always a tough call. I've seen worse but Motofoo is right. Its about time to at least have one on deck so you can swap it out before it goes
completely. It looks bad but its not spent yet. If its affecting the ability to sheet in and out then it's time fr a new one. The Peak 1 came with
a spare so you should be set. If not let us know and we can kick one out the door for you.

Also, good to know there is some life left in it. I'm not jumping so I'm not dangling from it.
I sent a message through your website

IMO, that line is not too bad. If you fly on a beach, its almost inevitable that you will develop fuzz if the lines get wet just once. Not great but
not bad. I would not act too quickly especially if you don't fly overpowered.

Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it. I've not flown depowers long enough to know the cycle of wear. Just looking at it, I figured I have
around 75% life left, but was just guessing, so good to know I've got some time.

I've been contemplating getting another stripped bar with the normal hole in the middle. That would smooth out the bar bite and cut down on some line
wear.

Water use means changing the depower line more often in my eyes (along with people who jump/do serious air). I'd not change that line yet, unless when
you pull the chicken loop the bar hangs instead of sliding up safety because of the wear. If it doesn't get stuck, I'd leave it, with a replacement
in the bag, until it looks closer to giving up.
Jumping it's a safety issue (more so), and water it's a having to do a recovery for shore which can suck. Land gets us a bit more flexibility/time in
out line and equipment age (in my eyes)

I made a joke and didn't know it I was being totally serious, I haven't found a
source for stripped down bars. All I can find is complete bars.

I'll probably go the ebay route when I get around to it. I'm surprised that the some of the kiteboarding sites that have every bar accessory
imaginable, do not sell the bar by itself.

Sean - check this out:
FleaBay Control Bar
Untested or endorsed by me; I just found it doing a quick search on FleaBay using search term "Kitesurfing Control Bar". At that price it might be
worth checking out as a bar for your P1s. Center hole looks good and the width is about right. Even looks as if you could go inside for your 6m and
outside for your 9m.

I have a PL and a Cabrinha which had various small parts break and are retired, but the bars are in good shape. Hit me up on U2U if you literally want
a bar, I'd sell them cheap. The PL I just upgraded to the newest Nav bar and everything else on it was getting worn out. The other is a cabrinha bar
which I broke a few lines on a plastic bits (on the depower part) and the cost of replacement parts > cost of bar.
