The Bego is a nice kite all around.

I only wish they would have put more design / applique / color in the bottom sail that faces the flier. The "M" is nice and the material is translucent but come on now... let's give the rider something cool to look at too. I mean the only time I get to see the back of my kite is when I'm setting up and taking down. Why do manufacturers do that??

Good ?? B Roc! I understand the material they use for the kites are left over from the paragliders. Whatever, however, great kites! Had the Bego 400 v Blade IV 4.9 dual in 15 to 20 mph winds today. Second time up with the Bego. I have to tell ya the Bego out lifted and floated the Blade overall except for one jump. I got over 6 feet easy with both kites. The Bego was more stable at zenith, and at the edge of the window, whereas the blade collapsed on me a couple of times when I redirected towards zenith. I actually overflew the window so Ill take one hit but not two. I might be semi new by I can fly my rags! It must be my flying style and or preference using break input but the Begos are more responsive, stable, and powerful IMO. Round ONE def goes to the Bego for stability, power thru the window, and consistantly higher jumps. On to round two........................ Hey it could be worse, we could all be at Kunsan (ask DaVinch, he knows what Im talking about) as usual................stoaked:thumbup:

Thanks for the report! I had similar results when I compared the two (Bego 400 vs 4.9m Blade IV).

The Blade had more raw power, but the Bego's quickness gave it more pop. It also takes more input to get the most out of the Bego.

As for looks, the Bego wins! However, the Blade's backpack is very nice...

So, just stuff the Bego in the Blade backpack and you'll have it made :D

Flying a kite on the brakes is really a great way to fly (if the kite responds well to that). Turns are so much quicker and you get used to working the brakes which can give you more power through the power zone or at the windows edge.

I appreciate kites that fly well on the brakes... especially when harnessed in as you just have to give or take a little from the brake and the kite snaps around well loaded with power. I keep all my brake lines on the tight side unless I am flying at the real bottom end of the kites wind range and I need to adjust simply to get the kite off the ground.

I'll review the Bego 400 too but probably not for a while. I haven't had a chance to ski with it yet and lanboarding is out for a while now.

Im thinking they dont want the kite to look too busy? It was a bright sunny day yesterday and I rather enjoyed the white belly. The material is so translucent that the backside color gave the belly some contrast and depth! Check out the 200 color scheme--sweet as well!

I agree with the likely idea they don't want a busy kite layout but I wouldn't mind seeing the appliqued "bego" moved from the back to the front (for advertising purposes alone when flying) or just reverse the color schemes so all the color is in the forward facing panel and the back sail is white or whatever.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining... just musing.

Nice looking 200 as well - did you get those both from the ebay auction from the guy in TX advertised here a couple weeks ago??

Sure did-- he is an excellent seller (not quite as good as Da Vinch) but its lonely at the top, right Joe? I had a deal (I thought) with TX Windsports but never materialized but then the Bego auction came up so I guess everything happens for a reason. Highly recommend realhonesty1 for future transactions!

i've seen a completely lime green one in the air it looks well cool,i've a mac neptune 600 rtf in the for section imo they're better than the bego more stable bigger windrange, plus water relaunch ability.
