Kite sale (updated 11/30)

Hi everyone,

I'm thinning things out and am selling some kites that are way underused. All are in really nice condition with the occasional smudge or stain. Generally people tell me they are nice looking kites (although a few people in certain places might feel the need to inform me that inflatables rule and foils suck). I've spent many years flying and really loving my depower Flexifoil Blades and these kites rarely get used. I will be selling the following:

Flysurfer:
(all have 5th lines for landing and emergency release installed by me; I'm happy to remove them if a buyer wants)
Pulse II 14m. (SOLD) Blue and white, black trim, gets plenty of compliments. $600 complete
Pulse II 8m. (SOLD) Red and white, black trim. $450 complete. Q-power lines and original bar.
Pulse II 6m. Blue and white, black trim (only selling it if the 14 and 8 sell). Great in super heavy wind. $450 complete
Speed I 10m (SOLD) Modded bridle for better depower (4-2-1 two-pulley system). $200 kite only.
Flysurfer Speed 3 21 (SOLD), great condition, original bar and FLS release (no fifth line) complete, $1000
Peter Lynn Vapor 16 (SOLD) blue and white with some orange, barely used, complete with lines and handles $800
Flexifoil Blade III 4.9 kite only $250
Flexifoil Blade III 4.0 kite only $225
Ozone XXLite 19 single skin paraglider, used by me as a light wind traction kite. Light weight and small packing, flies in the lightest wind. I have a depower system added below the bridles which I'm happy to remove. If you know anyone who might be interested please let them know. It's a niche market wing, designed for the "hike and fly" crowd. A bit like a huge Flysurfer Peak. $1200. (I'd appreciate it if any of you with paragliding friends might let them know)

Offers on kites including multiple kite package deals don't offend me, and in a nice mood swing I might throw in free shipping to the continental USA or even personal free delivery in much of Arizona and parts of northern Mexico.

There are some pics in this thread and I'm happy to send more detailed pics to anyone who would like them.

Thanks for reading.

John

Hi Loco,

I'd like to see some pics of the 14 when you have time to post or if you can provide a link to some existing pic elsewhere.

How is the overall condition of the kite (fabric/bar/lines) and how many hours are on the kite?

Thanks.

Any more info on the condition for this and what weight it might support?

The XXLite is close to new and has never been flown as a paraglider. It was purchased by a friend who sent it to a mad scientist who planned on converting it to a depower kite but he never made any headway. I took it from him and added a pulley mixer and kite surfed on it a few times (never got it wet by the way). Impressive pull, as I flew it in super light wind getting upwind in about 5-6 mph (probably 7 or 8 up high). Really cool. I flew it off a bar and if I don't sell it my next move is with handles. I like the concept but I really am a kitesurfer not a land rider and I don't like the idea of ever dumping this on the water. There are lots of risers that would be a real pain if some kelp or sargasso were on the water. By the way this thing just doesn't want to overfly; even if the tips fold (unfold easily with rear line tension) the kite stays up in the air and never threatens to crash.

I'm not sure what you mean when you ask what weight it would support. If you mean as a paraglider I believe it's around 180-230 or so but would have to look it up to know. Proper wing loading is key, but this really carries more weight per square meter than a typical wing. I'm an ex-PPG pilot but never flew this as a PG. if you wanted to use it as a PG you'd want to make sure you or a rep /dealer could evaluate it before flying. If you're a beginner or early intermediate PG pilot you absolutely don't want this at all. If you are asking what weight it would support for a buggy rider I can only guess it would pull a really heavy person in really light (4-8 or maybe 4-10mph) wind. I'm about 185 and on the water on a Spleene Session 141 I was super powered in the breeze mentioned in the above paragraph. I flew it on 25m lines so it was way up there. Depower so far is fair and maybe I could improve it with more testing and adjusting but I haven't made enough time for that. In AZ I'm really not able to do this (just too much power for my gusty area with too many updrafts and dust devils) so I only fool with that stuff on my nearby Mexican beaches.

Are you considering it for buggy use or as a PG?

I will try to send you a pic.

Thanks again for your interest.

Not considering it for myself as a low wind kite, too gusty to risk that in New Mexico, I'm guessing.

I have a friend who occasionally kites with me, and regularly paraglides, whom I know is looking for a hiking rig, so I figured I'd ask about weight, before I looked stupid pointing him towards this thread. I'll point him this way, as it may be of use to him

This is my Peter Lynn Vapor 16.1. I'm not a buggy guy, but bought it with intention to convert it to a depower kite for kitesurfing (I've been flying open cell depower Blades on the water for many years and make my own depower systems). This kite pulls like a truck and is well known for its outstanding light wind and upwind ability. It's in outstanding, practically brand new condition and I never made any changes to it. If I don't sell it I will hopefully eventually get around to modifying it, but I just haven't made the time and I don't like this kite sitting around. It's an absolutely beautiful kite.
