NAPKA Elections coming up for 2016 year.!
Hello members,
As we near the end of 2015 and quickly approach the upcoming 2016 year, it is again time for NAPKA nominations and elections. Morrie will be sending
all members emails with information about the upcoming election. All members may be nominated for any position by other members. If you are nominated
for a position, you will be contacted by Morrie to accept or decline said nomination. Then after nominations, the voting will begin.
I would also like to thank Susan for her years of service as Secretary as well as Elections Chairman, as she has stepped down for the time being. She
has been a big help over the years with NAPKA and I know I appreciate all her work.
Look for the emails which will be coming soon.
Hope we all have a safe, exciting season next year! Till then smooth winds to all of you! Ride on!

Could we ask for power kiters interested in any office to post their desire.
Thanks to all that helped
keep our organization going for the benifit of power kiters in North America.
I also am throwing my hat in the ring. Hope you can help.

So just spoke with Morrie, so far only 2 members have responded with nominations for the upcoming year. Please send along your nominations for the
upcoming year, be part of the process, not just a member.
Also remember to check your cards. Several members are about to expire or have expired already. Yearly dues are only $30 now and if you had an auto
pay set up, we cancelled them so to eliminate fees on both ends for doing returns. Check your membership dates, and renew if needed.
Hope everyone is getting seat time in!

Especially as I'm just joining NAPKA, I'm not at all fit to hold office, nor do I feel myself experienced enough of a kiter to be worthwhile in doing
so... I do however have a question... Any non-financial help/support that NAPKA could use? I wouldn't mind getting involved or volunteering. Given my
background, the only thing that comes to mind off the top of my head would be modernizing NAPKA to a CMS website, and possibly making use of the pilot
bio and info that you give when registering.

Being the chapter representative requires very little commitment unless your Chapter is holding events. The PERFECT way to support the group without
needing to know a lot about being a pilot.
NAPKA has grown to be a respectable and effective way for us to work with land holders gaining access. Like Rich mentioned we are claim free and
gaining a great reputation. Having those representative spots filled mostly helps us show we are organised and active.
Lets all support NAPKA so when folks need it they will have a solid reputable group that can support them when trying to gain access and organise
events!
I am proud of what NAPKA has become and thank all those who have made it so successful.

Thanks BladeRunner, many good points there, and information.
However I'm in District 20, so I'd not be helping fill a vacancy, and since it includes Nevada, probably not a good fit for me. I figured I'd ask, as
there's definitely got to be other needs, and I'd like to volunteer/help as NAPKA has been a super useful source of information.

Any help that you would like to offer is great, any ideas are also welcome. NAPKA is a living breathing, entity driven by member needs and
inclusions. We do our best to help out anyone we can inside of our insurance and able knowledge will allow us. There are many experienced minds in
the club that have faced all types of dilemmas. The combined knowledge and years of experience within the group is, well, ridiculous if I might say
so.

Oh there are several as equally passionate. Oh and don't worry my northern friend, I made sure your name was brought back into the ring :P.
As many know, and some may not, Morrie is a huge help to me in many ways. We talk very often on direction, decisions, and so many other things. I
have him on speed dial as he always answers and is glad to help when he can! Superb man he is!

What positions are currently empty or still need nominations? What are the jobs of the secretary? And lastly (and a big one for me), is attending all
of the NAPKA events expected of an officer position?

Previously the secretary didn't have much work to do, but also did elections.
We're thinking of combining the secretary and treasurer jobs.
Lastly, an officer is NOT expected to attend NAPKA events. Currently there are only 3 "official" NAPKA events: Spring Wildwood, Jibe and Fall
Wildwood. WSIKF (Washington State International Kite Festival) requires NAPKA membership for buggying during the festival. I attend that each year.
Before the Washington beaches were opened up, there were up to 9 NAPKA events on the WA beaches each year. I tried to attend each and everyone of
those. It isn't part of an Officers duty, but I still try to attend all events in my area.
Hope that gives you a little idea, probably a little wordy.
