Looking for 1 used tire it's for a beach cart to take my sons wheelchair across the soft sand to the waters edge...had midis on it last year just looking to make this a little easier..anyone have 1 please let me know I'm trying to avoid buying new

Nanco Slick 8 x 12 x 21

The Nanco and Duro are labeled as 21x12-8 slicks, but if mounted on identical wheels, the tires are not the same size. The Duro is smaller in width (1/2 inch) and diameter (1 1/4 inch).

So... Nancos not good fit for PL rim or..?

Works fine on any 8 inch wheel. The tires are just different sizes. For instance the 21x12-8 Nanco will not fit the front of the Ivanpah buggy, it's too wide and will rub the fork when you are pulled sideways by the kite. The Duro works fine for the Ivanpah without any rub problems.
I used the Nanco on all my buggies without issue except the medium Bigfoot fork for Libre. You need to let out the air of the tire to get on past the brackets of the suspension front end. The large size works fine.
The same issue for the PL Bigfoot as with Libre. Not a big deal unless you are powered up and you are turning into the wind to bleed off speed, the tire will rub.
Just for the record, I have used every 21x12-8 tire on the market. Nanco, Duro, Beachracer, and a couple others that nobody has heard of, and a bunch with and without grooves.
For the best tire at the lowest price, Nanco.
The best tire at the highest price, Duro Beach Racer w/grooves.
We won't go into tire balance and true roundness.

Brandon, BigKid is right (of course). I sold you the three BF tires and rims because I upgraded my ride with Sysmic rims that came with tires already mounted. They are the Nanco's that you were linked to. They are fundamentally shaped differently than the ones you just got. As noted, the Nancos are shorter and stouter by quite a bit.

As you are setting up a ride with four wheels symmetrically spaced I think you really would need the same tire as the three I sold you. While a different size wheel might work in soft sand, as soon as you get it on hard pack or pavement (like in the parking lot) I think you'd have problems.

My suggestion is to look at what the wheels I sold you are and get a fourth one just like them.

:D...Wanted 1 Duro Bigfoot Tire

Before buying my tires/wheels for my beach setup, I talked to European racers, accomplished riders, and observed what they use and read their accounts of the various Bigfoot options for buggies. Most have some positive and negative attributes. Or compromises that should be considered when making a choice for your needs.

Nanco slicks - cheap option that is only available with a smooth tread. Grooves could help resistance to side forces. There can be some variability from tire to tire in roundness. Not high performance but can get you riding in soft sand for low $.

Duro slicks - more expensive than Nancos but very consistent from tire to tire. Riding characteristics can be changed with different wheel widths. Tall and fast on 2.5" wheels all the way to wide and floaty on an 8" wheel.

Duro grooved - This is what I ended up with and is what is most commonly seen on race buggies in Europe due to best combo of weight, price, and performance in soft and hard sand. Mounted on an 8" plastic rim, asymmetrical wheels for back widen track while symmetrical is used for front. Grooves add lots of side grip. Light weight compared to Beach Racers and EuroTrax. Round profile to allow for narrow contact with hard sand and widening profile in soft sand. Lower bling factor compared to Beach Racers and Eurotrax.

Eurotrax - higher $$. Many of same benefits as duro grooved but it's a larger tire and heavier. Rotational weight can slow acceleration if that matters for your riding style. Tires offer some bling appeal with their size and attractive profile.

Beach Racers - Maybe the most expensive option. Grooves are there. Flat profile can reduce side traction due to psi being reduced by larger contact area with sand. Wide profile can offer higher performance in really soft sand as they would float over without making much of an impression in the sand. On harder sand, speed and handling can be enhanced with narrow wheels or use of camber on rear axle. Narrow wheels shape the tire more like the Eurotrax or Duros mounted on wide wheels. This would eliminate the wider track allowed by asymmetric wheels. These tires are also heavy like the Eurotrax or heavier.

Got 3 new when I got my new bug and found out that the fork would not fit a 21x12 tire after
I mounted it on a 4" Sysmic rim.............. sooooo.

I looked at it like an tire mounting exercise. On, off, then on with the smaller tire.

A learning experience so to speak.

It taught me how to cuss!:o

Try spreading the fork as much as possible and insert a washer or 2 to help gain a bit of space.

Surely someone mut have a bigfoot tire that they can contribute or sell for the cause. (Not that Brandon is a "cause", but he is family.)

i cant afford wheeleez...thats what started me down this path. i got 2 flexibugus w/ midis for what those tires cost...i do know they are the best tool for the job though
i could probably use 2 Nancos and run front and back as pairs...the wheelchair can tilt to compensate and we pbly never hit 2mph...so new option on the table

I'm with Jason on the one. I sold Brandon the first three tires and wheels (the BFs on my stock PL that I upgraded) that has him now locked into trying and getting a fourth to match the first three.

I'll gladly pitch in and help make this happen financially. Also not trying to make you uncomfortable Brandon; I just want that chariot to roll smoothly!

I'll run one Nanco on it..it can't hurt then if I find another or a Duro I'll go front and back...its not so much the $$$ as I'm trying to match things up..My Oliver likes to cruise in style...we got midis out the wazu at this house but he's getting big and I'm getting old and it sure seems the sand is getting softer
