Custom glass marble stakes for sale
Marble kite stakes / solo pegs for sale. $28 each via paypal (which I'm new at) including shipping in lower 48 states (USPS flat rate envelope). ($20
+ 8 for shipping)
Can be used for staking the handles when setting up a kite by yourself.
Various colored 1-5/8" glass marbles epoxied on top of hand machined aluminum adaptor, pressed onto 1/4" stainless steel shaft with a bull nosed tip
for pushing into grass or sand. All metal parts feature radial sanded finishes. 14.375" overall length (12" of shaft). Length and weight works well
for sticking thru a belt loop when you are flying your kite.
I started making these when I switched from stunt kites into power foil kites. My favorite kite shop only had golf ball topped stakes and I wanted
something different. These are inspired by ones that I have seen in the past. Currently I machine the metal parts during some of my breaks at my
full time job. I have also done mini pool balls on the tops in the past but do not currently have any. My kite shop has been selling these for $20
also.
I have not sold things online or done eBay type stuff before (Lots of local Craigslist for other items). I just figured I would try this on this
forum and see how it goes.
Moderators, if for some reason this is not allowed let me know and I will stop.
These photos show the ones that I currently have made up and for sale.

I was making the billiard ball stakes sold at Into The Wind kite store.
I enjoyed giving them away more than making and selling them..so I stopped. Still have dozens of the little balls. I gave away 15 at Ivanpah this
year.
I do have two of your stakes. Extremely nice quality and well made. They make mine look like a used gumball on a Popsicle stick!
I highly recommend these marbles. But...get bright colored ones since my Green ones blend in too well in grass!

JeepersJoey, to clarify you probably have some of LS custom's kite stakes which are what inspired me to start making these.
The kite shop that I go to used to carry the LS customs but have had not had any in in a year or two. I believe that they stopped making them. I
ended up making some for myself and for the local kite shop last year to sell and then some this year.
I believe that LS customs kite stakes were polished. I played around with polishing but it was very time intensive.

I got a few dozen of the long and a dozen or two from a guy in Grahm south of Spanaway, Eric.
The ones I got came with a nylon sleeve and a beaner, mine go for 19.99, 12.99 for the short ones. And they are polished to boot. Just saying.

Sounds likes Jeff's might be the way to go, with the sleeve and caribeaner to hold it.
If you don't mind me asking, How do you ship those? What do they cost to ship?

12 bucks average for shipping. I found it was easier to sell them locally and use the others as a give away when I was out of town. That's how Spencer
got his at Jibe a few years back. There are a few others around the US.

That is what I thought too, so I painted mine bright yellow....stuck it in the grass in a field in the spring time....came back to my bags and started
to look around laughing at myself.....there were 6000 yellow dandelions all around......never found the stake....

BEC, I lost one at the park and after I returned a couple weeks later I found a sign on the edge of the field that basically said to stay off the play
field unless I have permission to use it. I was told the lawnmower found the stake, it caused a few hundred dollars damage to the lawnmower and the
guys truck door. Guess the shop had a good laugh about the golf ball that stuck in the door.
I told the park manager that I don't golf, never have.

When I lived in California and got to ride at the sod farm with Dakitez and Screwyfits, we had a system of named and numbered kite stakes and had to
account for them before we left. It was a sweet riding spot and we did this to keep the welcome mat out for us.

I don't use any kite stakes but when I did it would drive me crazy if I laid one down in the grass and couldn't find it. It's amazing how easily they
can disappear. Never left one behind. I do however use kite weights that I make from cut up soft water salt pellet bags filled with small gravel and
taped shut. I have left those behind occasionally and will find them run over by the mower. I'll pick up the remnants of the bag but the 1 lb of
little gravel isn't noticeable. I've also found strops or other little odds and ends that I left behind in the fall and find them again in the spring.
What I leave behind can't be as bad as running over the hard rubber lacrosse balls that are constantly left behind.

I have a couple of these. One from AWOK and 1 ( free ) from Dakitze . Love them for everything but soft sand.
I have been lucky but worry about leaving mine out. Usually my stake isn't where my gear is. With it just sticking out away from everything while I'm
riding I feel it will be attractive to passers by?

I usually pull my kite stake out of the ground just after I launch the kite and put it thru a belt loop, into a kite bag that usually carry or into a
holder that is on the front of my kite buggy.
It would suck to leave one behind and not be able to find it

Is that your leg? What exactly happened?
I usually use the belt loop as the last option over the bag or the buggy holder.

I've seen / heard about people keeping the kite stake on their person and I would never even think of having it anywhere near a belt loop or torso. I
don't keep one on my person but if I did, I would wear a sheath on my calf similar to what snake eyes carried his knife in

The ones that I am making do not have a sheath, just the stake.
It sounds like bigkid has some of the LS custom ones in his stock that come with a sheath and caribeaner.
Details are in my top post. PayPal, usps flatrate envelope.

these are the ones I have with the sheaths along with some I made for the PKD stakes.
I made some sheaths for the 6 inch stakes but dont want to dig them out for the photo shoot, they look just like the long ones.
A bit of webbing and a few stitches and you have a sheath. A trip to ebay for the beaners and your set. Anyone can do it Eric.
