I have just been offered a second hand 4m Sami for a very reasonable price. My question is regarding the differences between the Sami I and Sami II. How much difference do the changes such as the closed cells make and are the original kites still goog for the money of are they simply outdated

The Sami 1 is a very good performing kite. You can't go wrong with it at all. The Sami 2 has some improvements. The closed cell does help the kite keep its shape a little better and it has been refined to improve performance a bit. Overall the changes are subtle but noticeable in flight. If the price was the same or close I would surely go for the S2. If there is a big price change then the S1 is still an awesome kite.
