Control Bar

Would anyone happen to have any suggestions as to what control bar would work good with a 5m Crossfire II?

Why do you want to fly a Crossfire on a bar at all?

Your kite is designed to be flown on handles. Going to a bar will dramatically dumb down the kite. Basically turning it into a 2 line.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

 oh wait, that's his name. Sorry, it still cracked me up.

Don't do the bar thing, it's a handles kite.

I spent a lot of time and a bit of money trying to make my FB kites fly on a bar. Even though folks on here were advising me otherwise I built crossover bars. I thought I liked being hooked in with a bar more + flying 1 handed. I thought my 5m Ace flew pretty good on the bar until one night when I was inland flying in marginal winds. Out of desperation I switched from my bar to handles and it made ALL the difference. I was able to work out a ride that night and never put the bar back on. I learned to fly hooked in to a strop and to fly FB one handed once my pilot skills improved.

The time I spent trying to make bars work would have been MUCH better spent becoming a better pilot! ! I didn't realise it at the time but was hoping the crossover bar would make up for my lack of skills.

Your money for a bar could be better spent Like on a helmet!

I was thinking of getting one for landboarding and kite snowboarding, but after the forums wise input and some research into why the forums input was as such, i understand now why it was a silly question to ask, lol. Im still quite new to all of this and theres much i dont know yet, lol.

I don't think it was a stupid idea.

What was stupid was ME not listening to folks on here. I could have progressed faster if I had just stuck with handles.

I do prefer are bar still for riding stand up. I pretty much exclusively use my depower kites for that .

You need to accept that no single kite will do it all. Your 5m FB will take you a long way in learning but you will eventually need to build a quiver of kites. If stand up riding is your goal I suggest you start saving for a depower kite.

I flew all my fixed bridles on an Ozone Turbo bar for years and there was never anything that I needed to do with the kite that I couldn't do with the turbo bar. Having said that, not all kites get on well with the turbo bar - I've flown some that were horrible on it. While I've never put a Crossfire on the turbo bar, from this video it would seem to fly pretty good.
