Ist kite ski/skate on ice(or snow)of season....and 2nd day!

Half the lake is still open water...frozen at two ends, not middle.

3.25 inches of mostly smooth ice and dry.

Today was using short line (9m) with a NPW 6.5m to work close to shore and use more limited terrain.

5-14MPH with lots of zippy runs. Blades still sharp:thumbup:

Many times wished I had a foil to jump a little with and for better upwind but still NPW was so useful in limited space .... and because I can easily fit three sizes in my backpack and venture out.

Tuck - not sure if you're brave or desperate, but man, are you dedicated! I don't think I'd go out on a half frozen lake... Glad you're having fun!

I made lot of test holes and walked part of route ..

Just thick enough with a little extra, perhaps .... but had to get out on smooth fast ice.

I need more.

Need deep freeze back in Northeast, too.

Returned to ride today. Same winds. Same kite again....... Same open water.

Temp s warmer in 40's. ice stayed hard enough(to hold edge) and safe enough...

Get it while you can...
