PKD Buster 3m line question.

Hi All

Got my self a buster 3m - used to fly but not for years and now getting back into it-or trying to!

The kite was doing some wierd stuff today on its first flight.

It filled up on land well enough. as soon as i tried to take off it was either unresponsive, flipped upside down and stayed there or kind of collapsed in the middle and flapped around. The peter lynn pepper I had never put a foot wrong lol.

After reading some other forum posts of the same nature im gathering some adjustment of the bridle may be in order. Ill have a play tomorrow.

One thing that did confuse me is in the pics. at the pig tail end I found one of the lines right at the end on both sides. so I slid it back. however Im wondering if that was the issue?

Basically with picture is correct regarding the pigtail end?

Ive just tried to adjust that knot. It seems far too tight to be easily adjusted. The larkshead i mean. It has a knot behind that to stop it losening so not sure how its to be adjusted.

Move the bottom line to the 3-4 spot on both sides. The AOA is to far one way, you need to move it to the middle.

Appex buggy, Libre hardcore buggies.
Flexboardz. Blokarts.
PKD Century Soulflys. NPW's. Nasa Stars.
A few other less flown oddballs,
Line sets from 10" to 328" or 2m to 100m.
worlds only AQR that works.

Thanks for that!

Ive tried to losen the line knot but its soo tight and there doesnt appear to be any room to manouvre it with that other not stoping the larkshead.

am i doing it wrong?

Any advice?

The early busters and broozas came with a 3 position AOA and changed to a 5 position AOA and then to a 100% adjustable AOA without the knots.
Because the kites were so easily adjustable most flyers were not knowledgeable enough to correctly adjust the AOA for the most benefit in their specific style of flying. And it was eliminated with the soulfly and soulfly pro models.
You will have to carefully work the knot loose so it can be adjusted to the neutral position.
If it was me I would put on a set of reading glasses and pour a glass of wine and have at it, then see what I could do to work the knot loose.

That is odd that they didn't supply more line on the larks head. That will be a struggle to work loose and a struggle to adjust. One trick is to soak it in warm water and use a stitch picker.

Undo the overhand knot in the large double leader and slip the setup off the end. Then you can easily deal with it.
