Mass Mailing Important, read this! B L M alert!
Dear buggy friend, as we finalize our arrangements with the fine folk at the Bureau, as we like to say, let me tell you that this year, they have
asked for everyone to have a copy of the permit and the rules.
We here at the swiss chalet are happy to pass that info along. If you did NOT enter your email, and would like a copy(you need it if your going!)
please email me deanjordan (at) gmail(dot)com!
As of today, the 20th of March, my Point of Contact has told me she would have us some electronic words in 48 hours. Once i get that package, i'll
stay up half the night drinking tequila from a worn out shot car with one wheel lost, making up an email list of our current participants and send
that little package out.
#13 out
where's my car..........?
oh, ps i'll make it available as a .pdf you can get from here or the website!

Hi all, from your friends at the Chalet, we've got the permit here for
you. BLM wants each and every one of us to have a copy of this
ponderous file on hand when we are at Ivanpah Dry Lake. Please do
this, there will be law enforcement on hand.
Remember, stay off the lake if it rains, do not drive in the ruts or
where it is wet, and be courteous to others.
Speed limit is 30mph.
Don't ride your buggy or land board in camp, do not drive on the lake
surface in your car. We are all kite ambassadors.
NABX is adopting a "Leave no Trace" philosophy. Pack it in, pack it
out, leave the area better than you found it. There will be no
trash cans. You are responsible for your trash.
Having said that, there will be a dumpster located near the lake
entrance for our use.
Help us liaison with the BLM and let your NABX team know if you see
anyone doing illegal or damaging things while at Ivanpah.
There will be a white board in the white tent which is our main
meeting area with schedules and event notifications. There will also
be a copy of all the rules and regulations there as well.
NABX officials will (mostly) be wearing staff t-shirts and consist of
Scott Skinner, Blake Pelton, dean jordan, Jose Sainz, Claxton
Thompson.
http://www.nabx.net/final_pkg.pdf
Please cut and paste that link into your web browser, down load the
file, and print a copy. BLM require each of us to have a copy. We
will have additional copies at the tent, but do not rely on us for
that.

If you are printing on a laser printer (and maybe other printers), have it print 4 pages on a side. Cuts it down to 3 pages total (better than 12)

Dean,
Again, thanks for your efforts with the BLM. Know that we appreciate all of the BS that must be dealt with to get us continued use of Ivanpah for the
group. I for one am indebted to you for your efforts. Without this annual release I get from being on the Playa i think I would go mad. As a city
dweller, I cannot get regular fixes for my wind powered pursuits and look forward to this event as well as the anarchy of thanksgiving in Galveston.
See you there.......

By making the download file so big and including all the application parts - 12 pages - the BLM, traditionally responsible for Land & Resource
Management of public lands, has required each of us to consume 12 pages of paper.
Paper grows on trees, you know.
The lumber and paper pulp industry has been so decimated by improper management and overseas suppliers that I wonder about the harm done to the
environment by such a waste of paper.
A single page, containing all the applicable parts, would seem a much more responsible way to share our concern for waste and the environment.
Perhaps in the future a more concerned effort could be made.

I could not agree more Corey, however, as our friends at the BLM read this, i shudder to think of saying anything, i mean anything, critical of them.
Right now i'm thankful we got it, and that they are putting the info out there, and they most certainly will be happy and surprised that we are such
good buggiers and good kite flyers that there will be no reason for Ranger Hall to spend much time hanging out with us this year.
Surely he'll just come and go.
So, you folks, keep your eyes open for Ranger Hall, and greet him warmly when you see him.
