Sincere regrets...
Greetings, folks...
I've done a lot of posting in here, in preparation for the important meeting to take place on Wed. evening at NABX, and I regret to inform the
"family" that I won't be able to attend this year.
I recently tendered an offer on a house, not thinking I stood a snowball's chance in hell of getting it, and BAM! I opened escrow today, and should
close on the place by the last week of March, or first week of April, so I can't go anywhere, if I want a place of my own, finally, in which to live
and hopefully not too soon, to die.
I've been a "renter" almost my entire adult life, and this opportunity is just too good to pass up, and my house payments will actually be less than
my present rent, so I'll be able to afford GAS, which will probably be $5.00 a gallon by next year's NABX. It's running $3.30, right now, in my area,
which makes a 1000-mile round trip just too expensive for my budget this year, anyway. I know, I know, youse guys that are flying in from
god-knows-where are laughing and offering cheese to go with my "whine", I'm sure.
I'm sure I'll be even more of a "curmudgeon" during that week, especially around the office, knowing you folks are all out there dancing with the wind
and having another great year at NABX... try not to be *too* relieved that I won't be at the meeting, driving you all nuts with my anti-government,
anti-land-use-regulation, anti-fee, anti-BLM, and anti-gear-head propaganda. Much harder to ignore me when you can't just filter my posts, eh? Hee
hee!
I miss you guys already, and though I'm really happy about getting a house, it's touched with sadness that I'll miss the most important highlight of
every year, and one that I treasure *almost* more than any other part of my life. Think of me when you're dashing through the pucker-bumps at
Elmer's, or gazing at the stars above Superior, or gathering 'round the Hangin' Tree at Buffalo Bill's, and know my spirit's over on the far side of
Ivanpah, playing "show off" with the cars on the 15.
Damn, timing can be a #@%$#!, sometimes.
-Dooley :moon:
P.S. To John Lehman: you had much to do with my good fortune, and I thank you, once again. You'll know what I mean.

hey mikey
i for one will miss you this year.
one of the main reason why i go to nabx every year
is to see my family. and of course you are family to me.
good luck with the money pit. i have been in my house
for 19yrs and i could never go back to renting again.
only for the reason i got way to much stuff and could never fit it in a apartment.
to bad we live so far from each other. i`m pretty good with a hammer. i just about rebuilt my house with my own two hands.
good luck again and you will be in my thoughts.
i`m going miss playing with you out on the playa.
you know how i like cruise with you and put my kite right over your head. LOL

Dooley's not coming???
Dooley's not coming!!!!
HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I for one, won't miss you a bit, you old (award-winning) curmudgeon.
I'm tired of your whining and left-leaning anarchist rants.
Finally perhaps we'll have an event filled with joy and comraderie.
So stay home, you old goat.
I don't miss you already.

Old GOAT???? Take a dang VOTE!!!
Okay, Lama...
It's a vote situation, fer sure, dude...
Which one of these visages bears the most resemblance to an OLD GOAT???
Sheesh if the geezer with the handle-bars was chewing on a tin can, OR SELECTING A JURY, you'd peg him as "GOAT" with nary a second look, now ain't it
the truth, huh?
Bubba... come get yer goat!

Like I said...
Bring it, Baby...
Oh ya... You're not coming.
When the Flamingo Flag flies, you'll know why your ears are burning.
Stay in your new house.
See if I care.
We'll finally camp at Elmer's without all the glass and nails of Dooley's Reef.
I'm relieved.
