Free older PL kite buggies, in Southern California

My brother in law has an older PL folding buggy and I think a PL comp to give away. The comp has a fork that will accept balloon tires, and I have the tires to go on it. All to the first person to come pick them up. contact me at geokite at hotmail dottttt com

Colin...I have no idea what a gumball rally is. That must be some of that hip lingo from Canadia. But it conjures visions of Cannonball Run. Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise, Rodger Moore and Sammy Davis Jr. racing across country to get a free kite buggy. Hahahahahaha hahahahahaha! I literally can't stop laughing.

Gumball Rally was a movie based on the Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining-Sea Mad Trophy Dash from Darien CT to Redondo Beach CA in the 1970's (a real event). Films and TV shows were produced under both names depicting the event and themes.

Now about those buggies....

More of an age thing. Gumball was 5 years earlier than Cannonball.

Drive - 2007

Rat Race - 2001

Cannonball Run - 1981

Gumball Rally - 1976

I finally got a BF front fork but still need a kinked downtube.

Moto - I also have a PL comp ST that can be used as a tandem.
Just need to set up a hitch. SWMBO said she is willing to try it.
We'll see if that or the Blokart catches her fancy.

Always on the steep part of the learning curve.
Gin Shaman2 6m, 12m
Flysurfer Peak1 6m, Peak2 9m,Peak4, 3m
Misc. other kites, never getting out of their bags.
Riding a Libre Fullrace with an AQR on the beach
Riding a Blokart inland when gust factor > 4
And a couple Manta Singles for friends to ride.

Ok, so I'm showing my age, but to be fair, I remember seeing the original movie only in reruns on Sunday afternoon...
Surely Rick and Lucy are done their move and should head down the coast with all the tourists to bring back the SOBB crew some extra buggies. Do I smell a fall SOBB raffle?

All joking aside.
Has anyone ever discussed a buggy co-op or loaner program?

If there were a couple buggies in storage near Ivanpah (or some of the east coast destinations for that matter), flying in to Vegas with a couple kites in your luggage, could make kite destination traveling a whole lot easier.
There may have to be a sign up list or vote on who most deserved to use them during events, but at off peek times you could just rent a car and fly!

Just a thought from the socialist north:eureka:
