sidelined
Well, im temporarily sidelined from further improving my buggyskills... crushed/scissored my left middle and ring fingertips at work this morning...
broken tips of the bones in each fingertip, mangled fingernails, lascerations, yadda yadda yadda... the upshot is, there was no tendon damage...
purely just the tips. But i did get to see what the bone looked like in the ring fingertip because most of the nail had a huge gap under it, lol.
And no, i didnt take a pics, lol. At home now resting and doing good.

Sorry to hear that. It is probably a lot better to heal quickly and well rather than getting out "back in the saddle" too soon. I guess the only
positive aspect of this is that you didn't injure yourself riding your buggy.

Fast healing is promoted without the use of alcohol!
Modern science has some GREAT pain medicine now so enjoy them as you heal.
FYI... Opioid constipation is not as bad as they make it out to be! I know this first hand.
When does Workmans Comp start?
I hope your recovery is fast and everything heals up the right way.
Your injury should not affect your kite skills.

Well, things got pretty rough around midnight last night when the numbing agent wore off... but it calmed down enough to sleep around 2am. Got a
pretty good ache going now, but not nearly as bad as last night!

I had a similar injury to my thumb. I can't imagine having that pain in 3 fingers. I hope you're able to manage it and have quick and full healthy so
you can fly a kite and pull in that clutch lever again soon.

I lost the tip of my thumb back when I was in college working a summer job at a steel mill. It was weird taking off my glove and seeing the bone
sticking out of my thumb. And yes - it did hurt, though I went into surgery pretty quick. Healed fine though. Can't text worth a darn though.....

Wanted to give an update... the fingers are healing nicely on the outside, stitches come out monday. Havent had any xrays since the ones in the E.R.,
but the bones are feeling better for the most part... sometimes they ache to high heaven but it dosent last for long when they do thankfully. Ive
gotten about 75 percent of my finger motion back, been rough to do but im getting there. I only stayed off work for 3 days, my choice, because i dont
handle down time very well at all, lol. Been welding again at work since last week monday when i taught myself how to run the wire feeder on my tig
machine one handed. To stave off questions, that was my choice, working in shipping left me feeling like i wasnt pulling my own weight in the shop
and that was unacceptable to me. And yes, im working within my drs restrictions, cant keep a good fabricator down! Worst part of is, theres been
almost constant wind since my fingers got crushed and today theres guts up to 40mph and i cant even toss my 1.3 Symphony sky, lol. Such is life
sometimes, lol.

Glad the fingers are getting much better. Great attitude getting back to work so fast. I know many at my work that take full advantage of an injury,
like somehow it's an extended holiday or something. You'll get more windy days like today. We had that same wind in Wisco today but accompanied with
lots of rain. I could've got out but didn't want to get soaked.

Updatd, got out today with my street kite setup and the bug for a little bit in our high school parking lot. Felt GREAT to fly! Wish id have had my
3m lines with me though, lol. Got a few full length runs of the parking lot in while it was spitting flurries before i had to leave.
