looking for a new spot in Nevada.

I Spent a few days last week on a dry lake bed just west of Pahrump, NV. One of those spots that is basically for the serious buggy rider, nothing real close short of the town Pahrump. Had a blast while the wind blew, the rest of the time it was jeep riding time to the surrounding area. Nevada, California, back and forth.
Anyone have any info on the place? I didnt think about getting the info locally while I was there and now that Im home its to late to ask the locals.
For everyone's next question. it isnt worth going there cause its really sucky.:ninja:

Cool stuff Jeff! How would you say it stacked up compared to its (relatively) close playa Ivanpah. Surface? Size? Access? Nothing like Primm next store of course but it is nice to see another spot emerge down that way. Curious how it might fare with rain and flooding. I know a couple of IBX events ago (two years ago?) that there was some flooding not too long before.

As stated above Im looking for a bit of info. Its the same old thing, "I should have paid more attention WHEN I WAS THERE".
So I dont know a lot about the spot other than I had a great time while playing with the grandkids.
Reminds me of Alvord but not nearly as big.

I spent a day at Silurian Lake due south of there 4 or 5 years back. It was lovely. The kite buggying was lovely. We played on the hardpack and in the washes to the east.

I don't know anything about Pahrump or that area. We approached Silurian from the south via Baker and left the same way. Do let us know if you figure out where you were.

flyhighWNY, no neither Silurian Lake [S. of Death Valley NP [who do not allow any "off road" vehicles BTW]] nor Pahrump are "close" to Ridgecrest. they are both about a 3 hr drive from the Ridgecrest metropolitan area

bigkid: sorry I dont have any information on Pahrump for you [trying to keep your thread on topic for you :)]
