WANTED: Kite Squire
With IBX around the corner I want to list my ultimate WANTED item for Ivanpah, a KITE SQUIRE. I only get to really focus on power kiting a few days a
year and I think a kite squire is exactly what I need. An attentive kite squire could be waiting patiently at base camp, alert to dash out and grab
the tip of my kite as I bring it to the ground, swiftly securing it to my kite pole and keeping my lines untangled. A kite of a different size or
style perhaps? A non-issue, my kite squire could confidently pack away my old kite and ready another one for flight!
Remaining duties can be discussed, but will only be kite related.
If interested, please respond and we can negotiate rates. Must be available Tuesday - Saturday at IBX. :D

Next he'll be hiring chauffeurs. Kite bearers?
Don't worry Steve we'll send two good men.
They'll be dressed in nice white smocks so you'll know them when they come to "attend" you.
Flying mostly single skins, with some orphans, the American flag, and a PL buggy. US01

Perfect. I sense some "pushback" on my suggestion. It was all in jest my friends. Many a time I've been out there with too much or too little kite in
the air and kept my kite in the air because it was too much hassle to swap out. Now, a trusty squire would make such a decision so much easier....
just idle fantasy on my part.

Sir! I would make an excellent squire.
Please, allow me to introduce myself.
I come from a long line of noblemen. An ancestry of warriors and Kings.
I've served King Arthur himself, but alas I have fallen on hard times.
My King, murdered in cold blood. His sword Excalibur now passes to me and I shall weld it against any persons who dare cross you.
I shall carry out my duties as directed. Kite packing/unpacking. Carry and fetching. Launching kites. Wiping of Sirs brow. Refreshments of cold beer
and finger sandwiches.
I will even fold Sirs pygamas but I must warn you, I retire no later than 9pm each evening.
Pay for my passage and my trusty steed and I shall accompany you into battle.

Not that crazy of an idea. In golf, before there were electric golf carts everywhere they had the guys who would carry your golf bag and clubs
around. They did expect to get paid and get tips though.

Steve, I agree a kite squire is quite nice to have, I love mine . IIRC you have
a couple of candidates in your home as we speak, you just need to get your lovely wife or daughter to come support you.
My squire/ wife loves coming to IBX and I believe that you have previously benefited from her support .
If your succeed in getting one of your house squires to come become a playa squire I am sure that my squire would gladly train, support, and assist
yours.
See you in a couple of days
cheers
