Hi Tom! I can't speak to the viper or core, but I think your closest kite is your Bullet. Flexifoil killed the Bullet and split it into the Rage and
Blurr. I recently got the blurr 2.5 and 3.5. As you're probably aware, Flexifoil keeps trickling them one by one on eBay, too good to pass up. I just
wanted a 3.5 Rage, but couldn't help myself. Haven't had a chance to try them (was hoping to try at WBB), but I looked at every thread I could. The
Blurr is marketed as a buggy/landboard engine. It sits between the Rage and the Blade in terms of lift (the Blade being the ultimate jumpy kite), it's
better upwind than the Rage, not as good with gusts as the Rage (but no slouch), and supposed to be very speedy - not a race kite, but getting there.
From what I understand, static is not it's strong suit, you have to be moving to get the most out of it. I found this to be true of my Rage - I wasn't
that impressed with it static, but the last couple times I rode with it I loved it, particularly in gusty airport conditions.
You have the 2.5 Bullet. I'm guessing there will be a lot of overlap between the Bullet and the Blurr 2.5. but I probably won't be able to test my
theory until later this week. I do find the Bullet really fun to fly static and on ATB. My best guess is both you and I don't really
need the
Blurr 2.5, but since when has that stopped us from giving a poor kite a good home?
