Anyone have an extra stopper ball for a flag out line? Huge thanks to Chris/Hardwater for his old instructions, I just converted my PL Navigator from a Y to V (so much cleaner!), but the one 10 cent item I don't have is a stopper ball for the flag out line. I tried a couple different places online like kiteboarding.com, but they told me companies aren't making them anymore - or at least not selling them for distribution. Found a few places in Europe that might have, but it seems crazy to spend so much on such a tiny item...

heh, thanks guys - fixmykite is affiliated with kiteboarding.com, so already talked to them about those. I'm looking for the ones (like my pics) that don't need a knot to fix the position. The knotless one looked interesting, but I'm told the loop won't fit through it... so kind of useless unless you build it into lines you're making. The others with the screws are for the depower lines, so too big. You would think this would be an easy thing to find...

I dug up an old thread where you guys were talking about 5th lines... I might just grab the ball off my Gin, I absolutely detest the way it wraps around the other lines - someone suggested removing it helps with that - makes sense.

Just got back from the park, lined up the steering line leaders, making some splices now.

If you are using that stopper on the flag out line expect it to be a bother as well. I keep threatening to remove mine.

I almost never go to safety on the fly so almost never send the bar violently up the line. Probably a must on water but not as big a deal on land. I DO run the bar up the line when self land / flagging but it is not violent and when set for my 18 and flagging smaller arcs doesn't come into play.

I certainly would not allow not having one stop me from going out!

I haven't noticed any problems with the stopper on my Best bar (not like my 5 line kites) with this same setup. No stopper definitely won't stop me from using it, just wanted to finish everything up - been on the todo list for a couple months :D Acquiring the Phantom lit a fire to get it done, from what I understand the Y keeps the Phantom's tips too close. Charger will probably like the change as well
I almost always flag out my Charger to land, I've never had to throw the safety (on purpose) on any of my arcs or foils (different story on my tube kite). But I do test them every couple sessions still.

That black stopper ball needs the knot snugged into it...

It's just to stop the bar shooting up to the kite, isn't it? Knot at the pig tail should do that just fine :D I *might* have one in a box of random ancient bar parts upstairs...let me have a poke around.
