A Hero in hospice has sadly passed away.

I am sorry to hear that one of the people who most influenced my life directly and our whole community in general is in hospice at home with His Family.

Jon Ellis AKA Jellis helped bring the sport to the west coast and through KBSS, Kite Buggy Speed Shop Jon supplied us with knowledge, quality gear and a spirit of community. His passion and effort brought us SOBB and NAPKA. Charlotte and Jon opened their hearts and home to us. Making us Canadians feel more than welcome. Encouraging us to come visit again and again.

Jon has fought an amazing fight this last few years. He must have 9 lives. Among the many lessons Jon taught me to " Live every Day " was one of them. Constantly bouncing back. Adjusting his style and then ride to blokart to carry on. Joining us on the beach even when all he could ride was his Jeep.

Please join me in Prayer for Jon and His Family.

I have only had a handful of interactions with Jon Ellis, because I am still one of the newer people to come into SOBB buggy camp. All of the interactions with Jon in person and through the computer were very informative and helpful. He has helped so many people over the years. He is a great man, I am glad I got to meet him and spend time with him and his family at previous buggy camps.

I believe I also received help from Jon, regarding kite questions.

Add my prayers to him and his family...and also peace.

Jon is and has been a great friend. He has been a giant in the buggy community. He'll be sorely missed by me and all in this crazy bunch. I had the opportunity to visit with him this past weekend and am having a tough time thinking of loosing a dear friend. Kelci and my prayers are with Jon, his wife Charlotte and their family

Jon has made an immeasurable impact on buggying in North America. To be around him is intoxicating when you pick up on his passion and technical approach to excelling at our sport.

I'll always cherish a run to the shipwreck with Jon at Sunset beach my last time at SOBB. Not passing him had no reflection on me being respectful or anything. I was giving her all she had but just couldn't gain on him. I've heard others have had the same experience. But even more cherished is the time spent with him just standing on the beach in conversation. Priceless.

Prayers and hats off to Jon, Charlotte and family.

Having only met Jon once, my respect for him grew even more so than it was before I had met him. When I was elected to be NAPKA President, I was shortly there after out west for SOBB thanks to a great group of western buggy pilots. Jon wanted to meet with me and I was very excited to meet with him. We talked for a good bit at the beach house and his passion for the sport was even more obvious after a lengthy conversation. My passion is also very deep for this sport, but my assurance to him to keep NAPKA alive and running was a top priority for me.

My continued prayers to Jon and Charlotte and the rest of his family and friends as he battles like no one else can. His desire and fight to kick cancers ass and stare it in the face while doing so is inspirational. It was and is a pleasure to have met him and get to carry on the torch of an organization he cared so deeply about.

Keep fighting Jon we got your back.

Very sad news. Jon was a master of speed and performance when it came to kites and buggies. Always eager to share his knowledge and support and encourage everyone. Respected and much loved in the buggy family, he will be missed but remembered by many.

This is such a great loss to the buggy community, and to the world we live in. Not many people out there are so personable and giving as Jon. I am honored to know him and ride with him. Our hearts and prayers go out to those that he has left behind, his family and his friends. He will be missed. Godspeed my friend.
