PL Phantom 18m (first series)

I am putting up for sale my PL 18m Phantom. It is in really good shape, no tears or anything like that. All zippers work correctly and spars are solid. Comes in original bag which is also in good shape and all zippers work. No bar, but I may be able to get one together after wildwood.

Price is $350 shipped USA or available to be picked up at WBB

Bonus possibility. I have the original PL bright yellow shirt that came with the kite, never been worn, size is medium I believe, but I never cared because I would never had worn it. Available with the purchase of the kite for an extra $50

I can send pics via text message after I get home today

Blade runner, I have the 9,15,&18m phantom II's and I finally started flying them and am clearly impressed with the speed the deliver, getting me up to speed in no time and plan to set some new PB's with them. I am in the search for a 12m Phanny II and a 6m storm wind kite, possibly an LEI or maybe a charger II 6.5m. Thanks for the creds.

Thanks to the rest of you wonderful brothers in arms for the creds.

As a heads up, I bought early on Phantom IIs and loved my 12. My 9 was not nearly as stable in the winds that I needed a nine in. The 6 was worse. It was replaced by the mfr and the replacement had the same issues of tips wobbling. Steve Bateman had the same kite and we flew them together at El Mirage for an entire day. We both had the same issues with the tips oscillating. We could blame it on me but I have the utmost respect for Steve's kite and buggy skills and we had the same experience. I went over 58 mph with the 12 but didn't approach that with the 6 or 9. Rich I'll give you my 6 if you want to pay shipping.

I'll take you up on that under the condition I will test and tune with it and see if I can work any bugs out. If I do I will use it for wildwood and return it so you can give it another go

BeamerBob gets it:thumbup::thumbup:
the balance of the universe has been restored:thumbup:

the NY contingent has declared a moritorium on any sale of the 18m
we object to said sale, and will be filing a formal grievance to NAPKA

You drive a hard bargain but I'll have to insist on paying shipping under these new arrangements. Remind me your address and I'll ship out on Friday.

I'm still flying Bobby's old 12m PII. That is one great kite. It is the perfect size for me and the winds I normally get at the beaches in Florida and Georgia. It's clear Bobby put some miles on it in the desert, but all I had to do was apply a few patches on the shoulders and it has never failed me. It's my go-to kite on most any day.

The last day I was at JIBE this year I flew that kite. I thought it might be a little larger than I needed, but I really wanted to fly it so I launched and took off. I was two minutes from camp when I confirmed that it was indeed more than I needed. I pulled the trim all the way in and I was finally not sliding. So I kept flying it. All. Damn. Day. The wind was angled to the beach all day. I must have tacked 400 times that day on all those upwind runs. When I landed it my hips were hamburger from the excess load and my constantly shifting harness, but what a day. Totally worth it. :-)

I fly: Charger II 6.5m * Charger II 8m * Charger II 10m * Scorpion 10 (for sale) * Phantom II 12m * F-Arc 1200 * Venom 13m

I ride: Peter Lynn XR+ on Midis * Flexifoil Midi/Barrow * Peter Lynn Comp on Barrows * Peter Lynn XR+ (needs a fork)

I build: Custom bars for buggy pilots

I write about kite stuff: at http://philipbchase.com
