hi all,

does anyone have any experiance of flexifoil sabre mk1s as i brought a cheap clean 7m to use over winter to practice landboarding with so it doesnt matter if i crash or trash it.

previous owner disconnected the lines and extensions from the kite and even with looking on the sabre instructions i am damned if i can work it out!! thought i had it but when you launch it pulling centre lines it rises up but drops back down so as you let them go and steering seams to do nothing!!

i can see me giving up and re selling it but before i do any help would be great.

Maybe you have lines attached incorrectly ? Do you have center lines attached to upper bridle and outer lines to lower bridle attachment points?

The Sabre 1 was a great kite! The line set up is a little odd with the way it crosses. Basically like a pulley bar but in the lines, not at the bar.

Its a great kite. Much better than the Sabre 2 IMO. The only weakness, the leading edge vents. The material (mesh) they used gets snagged and over time tightens. This will eventually restrict airflow.

if you get to that point, you can cut the mesh out. It is not structural. And the kite will fly normally again.

hi cheezy cheese theres more to it than just power and brake lines as theres a crossover line and pulleys in which seam to connect the leading and trailing edges together.

thanks feyd for the pdf which is the one that i used,there seamed to be two loops red lines connecting to one knot on the kites bridles and then where the main 25m lines connect to the extensions as flexifoil call it there was three loops so no idea how to connect those correctly!

why couldnt previous owner of left it connected!!

Where you located mooms, maybe someone nearby is available to give you a hand getting it sorted out. I would jump at the chance myself as I loved these kites and for whatever reason I get happy messing with line sets. Once you get it sorted you won't be disappointed.

I remember once Cheezy sent me a tangled ball of lines. Made my weekend :D

I know you aren't messing with a big knot of lines, but in a way it's almost the same.

Might be worth it to get a quote from WindFire Designs, FixMyKite, or Powerzone Kitesports on how much they would charge to rebridle the kite.

sounds you would be the man for the job on this,i am south uk so guess were have some water between us!!

hats off for enjoying tangled messes and having the paitence to do so.if you have knowledge of mk1 sabres would i be able to pm you some photos of where im confused to see if you could point me in some direction? there seams to be many more sticthed loops than knots to be able to larks head them too.

if so i will hold off from re selling it and see it between us we can bridle it correctly.

Not sure if these pics help. The resolution pkf allows to upload is low. Its a crossover bridle system which seems to assist with tighter turns. Interesting that it has 5 rows of bridle A,B,C,D, and Z lines. Its a single pulley depower system (per side) with pulleys for the crossover lines. Nice flying kite. Good in gusty winds. I would say the crossover system doesnt have any multiplier effect. Good landboarding kite. Despite the complicated bridle, its an easy stable beginner kite.

thanks jy1zoom for your photos which will be a great help,is that your kite? if so do you have photos of the larks head connections on the kite end as i seam to have more loops than knots so those would be fantastic and probably able me to sort this?
