White Lake, Nevada

went to white lake 15min north of Reno on sunday. (search white lake on google earth) We buggied for about 6 hours from 1pm to 7pm. I got 21miles and max speed 39mph on the gps. A good portion of the lake still has water on it, as it did rain last weekend. but winds were blowing mostly toward the SW and there was a good .75-1mile stretch to go back and forth on.
all in all it was a decent place to buggy, the winds are very unstable, they come, they go, they change directions. Not too gusty but there were a few dust devils kicking through.

unpredictable but still fun, did not matter what direction the wind was blowing because there is plenty of space to go any direction. This is a pretty good place for those of us in the California central valley who want a lake bed. Im gonna try misfit flats in a few weeks.

Dagon,
We buggied there last year...It was fun.

It had water in it then too-but it is still a good place to go if you're from the bay area.

Try Winnemucca Dry Lake too, it is HUGE!!!

very cool, wish I could have made it.

How long was the drive up there?

Would you go back to that same lake again or planning on checking out some of the other lakes in that area?
