This old Sommerset Mougham story - The Kite - is a great old movie for kite enthusiasts. It tells the story of Herbert who was doted on by his mother
and his developing enthusiasm for kites.
Starting of with an interview with Herbert is prison and mentioning that someone mangled his kite.
Kite flying is a family pastime between Herbert, his mother and father. Herbert's mother indulges him in every way and allows his to explore his grand
kite designs. Herbert is older, has made a fantastic kite and meets a young woman that he fancies but the mother doesn't want anyone coming between
her and her son...and she doesn't like kites!
You might get a laugh out of some of the lines as it could easily relate to anyone going out for kite session and how others might perceive us.
