Foot straps? Heel straps?

Made several variations out of webbing. Couldn't get the durability out of them.

Took a serpentine belt. Works perfect. eBay has them for $5. Get one at least 30" long. I used all but an inch of it. Get. Longer one if you don't want to use the sections with painted on writing.

This is a 5 rib belt. May go with a 6 or wider in the future if I redo it.

We buggy'd the day before Christmas and on Christmas. 4 the first day and five of us the second.

Heel straps, never ever over the foot.
In case of and OBE you do not want to be 'strapped' to
your buggy...

Evolving the heel strap

First try was better than no strap.

Long horn steer' was hard to acquire in gusty wind.

Took a pipe cutter to the horns and the porridge was just right.

The stiffness of the serpentine belt would have kept the straps from sneaking under the peg while I try to sit down.
Thanks for the info. And thanks for teaching me what. a serpentine belt is :puzzled:

ed - most hardware stores sell cans of rubber dip for tool handles. brushing that on your webbing would stiffen it up and may actually grip your boot better. various colors available.

as far as serpentine belts go, you could probably score a free used one from a local auto shop. if you can get your hands on a rubber truck tire mudflap, you could cut some simple straps or nice wide boot cradles out of that. those would last a lifetime.

I prefer heel straps. It feels more natural to seat my foot back against the straps as opposed to trying to sneak my feet into some kind of loop or top strap. There is the added benefit of your feet coming right out if you get OBE'ed.

wich is a anti-rust paint.
dont now if that is available in the states

if your straps work like you say than don't change them.. :D
