The 7m Empulse would make a great buggy engine. Really well behaved; I'm not sure I found the top end of that kite. I was using both the Empulse and the Pelican as a substitute for my 5.5m Apex the last couple of winter seasons in the mountains for high wind days. Made my 1st 14'er summit attempt (Mt Bierstadt) on that kite, which was kind of exciting.

If you want something a little spicier, the 7m Pelican is very similar to the Empulse (same designer), with a little more lift, a little higher aspect ratio, and a little lighter weight (1.28kg). But still a very smooth, predictable kite.

Both kites offer variable inlet designs, so you can fly them as open cells on land (this proved to be a nice feature for the mountains).
