That go-pro time has arrived
Well my fellow chimps THAT time has come.
I've been out in the buggy a few times now and am gaining in confidence.Done a few runs up and down the beach (not as far as possible but I'll get
there).
So...I'm thinking it's time for a go-pro.
If you have one or similar is it something you use often or just a couple of times a year?

Go-Pro technology has come a long way in recent years, particularly as it regards taking the shake out of action videos. If you are going to take the
plunge, I'd recommend buying a new (or near new) one with good motion stability control. In my earlier days of buggy riding I got a Go-Pro and took
tons of footage that in the end was hard to watch with all the giggle.
It's been a couple of years since I've done filming because what I came not to enjoy so much was the time-suck and tedium of editing the footage and
working with post production software. I'm sure that aspect has got better with time too, but do keep in mind that there will be a considerable time
commitment on the back end.
There are folks on this forum who have risen video taking and production to a wonderful art form and I greatly enjoy watching their videos. You know
who you are and I salute you! :D

It depends on your budget:
The bigger the better the quality
But also the better the quality and frame-rate of the
camera the better your computer needs to be
to edit and render a video.
Go-Pro is high-quality but with a price.
And if it's only a few times a year..
If you want to buy new i reccomend a imitation
wich a far cheaper and do the job good enough..
Search for second hand, so many people
are impulsive buyers, use it once or twice and forget it.
so you can buy it cheap even with warranty

Don't underestimate the computing power you will need for video. If you have a fairly new high powered computer then the newest and best GoPro's will
probably work great. The same is probably true of ones a bit older. Depending on how much time you spend your vids can look like professional
movies. However, if you are using an older computer or laptop processing time can be a big problem. At times my computer will simply choke on the
mass of data. Also just loading the files onto your computer can take a lot of time. For my old computer I've been using old Hero 3's available for
really cheap on Ebay. I have a newer computer but Windows stopped supporting Movie Maker so I end up using the my 2010 era computer for video. I've
tried other video editors, but they are either easy to use, but useless or difficult to use and (theoretically) more usefuil. Since I do windsurfing
for most of the year, I have managed to lose one every year or two which is another reason for my cheapness.* (You could probably lose it on the
beach as well, but at least you would have a chance of finding it.)
*But then, I probably don't need a reason.....
