You may (and probably do) know this already but Born now has the NS 5 available, though delivery times may not be quick enough for your purposes.

Thanks Randy! Yup, and I have two on order. They have ribs in the nose like the Racestars and Longstars and those ribs create wear points when flying on the Ivanpah playa. I already own a 2.5m NS4 and 3.2m NS3 and wanted to round out that older quiver with this 4.0m NS4.

I plan to put Kevlar sail tape on the rib points of these new kites before flying to try and preserve them.

Steve, once you get the NS5, please report back on what you think. I like the idea of nose ribs, and I'm running with an aged NS2 set of 2.5, 4, 5.5, and 7. They are pretty much my go to kites for the Wind Asylum where I ride buggy here in Atlanta.

Will do! I never owned but always loved the vertical color scheme of the NS2s. Since the NS4s Steffen vastly improved the line material he used for bridling. The bridling in the NS2s and NS3s always bunches up. The newer ones have a thicker almost waxy line. Not as thick as Ozone bridle line but along those lines (no pun intended!).
