Peter lynns vs ozone frenzy

people seem to really love the PL depowerables for buggys.
has anyone buggied with a frenzy?
How would you guys compare these two kites for buggies and other uses.

compared to a bridled foil, P.Lynn kites are very difficult to relaunch. takes a bit of a learning curve and technique.

bridled foils have more power/sqm than arcs

Arcs win in the gusty wind conditions and will stay in the air with little to no input (auto zenith feature). you can literally hook the chicken loop to a heavy object and walk away. check youtube for examples.

usually buggying with a bar is cumbersome, handles are preferred.

thats my 2 cents

I'm finding that fixed bridle and a bar on the buggy works very well. I end up with a free hand to counter balance, tweak the brakes or wave at the peanut gallery !

I don't have any experience with de-power in the bug yet but suspect it would be ideal for jumping. Less than ideal for racing.

Arcs in a buggy are wicked, just watch out for the low wind performance. I've had a 16m Scorpion for almost 2 months now and find that it's only hit the ground 2 times in those 2 months, once with a buddy flying, not quite sure what he did, the other time the kite was anchored to the ground happily sitting over head in really gusty winds while I was taking a break having lunch. A huge rotor from one of the neighbouring buildings finally got the better of it and knocked it out of the sky. That was after a 1/2 hr picnic with the kite parked overhead. The first time the kite relaunched off land no problem, second time I walked over and assist launched my kite, then walked back over to the bar, unhooked it from the anchor and continued flying.

I've also had a go on a 14m Frenzy, launch and ease of flying were way easier, low wind performance was way better, but you feel quite a bit more of the gusts and swirls.

Long story short, higher winds, Arc, low winds, Frenzy.

If you're after speed in a bug though, tough it out with fixed bridals, a good race kite should kill any depowerable rig for speed.

thanks, that is helpfull. I got a 10m 2005 frenzy on its way in the mail. I am looking for a good low wind kite, as in high winds I have my fixed bridles.
